Oversized Canoe

I recently did a photoshoot for an album cover, and I realized that this wasn’t my first rodeo. I always think of myself as a music video maker, or if I’m feeling more self-indulgent, a filmmaker. It’s surprising to think this is my fourth time involved in some capacity, usually behind the lens, of an album cover for an artist. That’s a great privilege, it means these artists have decided to let me help them find the vest visual representation of the sounds they are trying to express. It’s also often great fun.

I'd like to inform you who may want a music video that the outfits from Roxy Music's 1972 performance of Ladytron on with those awe-inspiring animal prints, scintilating sparkles, satins, and mesmeric metallic jackets was, is, and will be the blueprint AND I WILL NOT BE TAKING FURTHER QUESTIONS

Led Zeppelin🤘. Jacques Tati🕵️‍♂️.
Just saw Tati's hilarious & innovative again and was reminded by the striking similarity between a reoccuring shot that juxtposes the bougie moderne world with the old world being left behind and the unfolded cover of the fourth (untitled) Led Zeppelin album cover. I'm pretty sure I half remember an interview with Jimmy Page where he alludes to the imagery refering to the mix of old and new musical influences on the record, and the old world being torn down. I wonder if that's because if he had of said he cribbed it from a legandary French comedy it wouldn't aound as cool and deep, haha.
