The WMF Opening Ceremony began with powerful and deeply human stories that redefined the meaning of progress and innovation.

Opening the stage was Alicia Hanf who shared her experience in Afghanistan to highlight the value of the "human obligation to human beings" — the duty that connects every individual to one another. Recalling the Afghan interpreter who saved her life during an attack, she urged the audience not to turn away from the world's tragedies and to work together toward a future free from persecution.

This connection between pain and resilience also emerged in the testimony of Alessandra Cuevas. A victim of abuse at the age of seven, she shared how her mother, Teresa Buonocore, was murdered in 2010 after reporting her abuser. Today, Alessandra has transformed that tragedy into social action through prevention programs in schools and the "Teresa's Backpack" project, which supports the children of women seeking to escape violence. Her message was clear: the past should not determine the future.

The voice of today's major global conflicts came from Nader Aljorf, a survivor of six wars in Gaza before fleeing with his family. He spoke about the losses he endured and the impact of conflict on both his life and work, calling for technology and innovation to be used to protect human dignity and create real opportunities.

Closing the Opening Ceremony was Cosmano Lombardo Chairman of WMF, who emphasized that meaningful change begins with the choices people make. Reflecting on the festival's evolution into We Make Future, he recalled how a tragic femicide in his hometown years ago inspired the founders to place digital innovation and artificial intelligence at the service of the common good.

With this year's theme, "Build What Matters," one message resonated throughout the stage: to bring together skills, innovation, and responsibility in order to build what truly matters for the future of humanity.

1. LOCATION: l'evento si terrà a BolognaFiere. Sarà
possibile accedere utilizzando due ingressi:
Ingresso Piazza Costituzione 3, consigliato se arrivi
con i mezzi pubblici.
Ingresso Nord Pubblico, consigliato se arrivi in auto.
Puoi consultare le principali modalità per arrivare a
BolognaFiere nella pagina dedicata del nostro sito.

2. QR CODE: per accedere all'evento dovrai essere in
possesso del tuo QR CODE personale. Scansionato
all'ingresso per stampare il tuo Badge. Il tuo QR CODE
è già disponibile all'interno della Web App ufficiale del
WMF.
⚠️ Attenzione: in caso di smarrimento del badge non
sarà possibile ristamparlo, conservalo con cura!

3. PARCHEGGIO: per chi si sposta in auto sarà
possibile usufruire del Parcheggio Michelino, gestito da
BolognaFiere, facilmente raggiungibile dall'uscita
"Bologna Fiera" dell'autostrada A14. Solo 5 minuti a
piedi dall'Ingresso Nord Pubblico.
Per i visitatori con disabilità sono disponibili parcheggi
riservati presso l'ingresso di Piazza Costituzione
(uscita n. 8 dalla tangenziale).

4. ORARI: sarà possibile accreditarsi a partire dalle ore
8:30. Tutte le giornate del WMF avranno inizio alle ore
8:30 e termineranno alle ore 20:00 per i giorni 24 e 25
giugno, alle ore 19:00 per il 26 giugno.

5. WEB APP: la Web App ufficiale ottimizza la tua
esperienza della tre giorni. Con la web app potrai:
