I love playing with words in English, and discover more and more phrases that can be used to play around. I recently discovered "Having a whale of a time" (meaning having a good time) so I could not resist on creating some artwork with it! :)

You can find stickers on sale in the shops in Reykjavik, but also other products on my :)

Happy !
Let's get together to celebrate our strength, resilience, and brilliance!
And thank you Iceland, gender equality here has done gigantic steps forward, and women lead the way in building (hopefully) a brighter future. 🌍💙
For me there is another reason to celebrate, as when I moved to Iceland in 2019, I found myself celebrating Women's day - first thing - sourrounded by amazing and energetic italian ladies I didn't know at the time, and that are now some of my best friends. It has been the best welcome and a beautiful way of starting my life here! (thank you again )

I have finally taken my chance to draw a horse, celebrating Icelandic horses! This time, I have been inspired by something far away: the – the arrival of the – a rare pairing in the 60-year lunar cycle that blends the horse’s reputation for energy and independence with the intensity of the fire element, giving it a distinct place in the zodiac tradition (as you can read in a The Guardian article).

So my has a horse, with the beautiful mane of , surrounded by branches of . It has a triangle as a symbol of the element of Fire, and the whole composition features tones of red and orange, inspired by the colours used in China for celebrations, but also by fire, energy, and strength, which are connected to this symbolism.
Have you seen Icelandic horses?

Bolludagur in Iceland 🤍
A traditional day from old Nordic customs, celebrating the start of Lent with bollur — soft buns filled with whipped cream and topped with chocolate (yes, really). If you are familiar with icelandic bakeries, you know what level of indulgence we are talking about! Have you ever tried one?
In the middle of winter it's the kind of treats you don't wanna miss! .. Of course it had to inspire one of my designs!

As some of you know fro my monthly newsletter (if you want to subscribe, you can do it from my website), I have worked on a collection inspired by Icelandic fishes, and created main illustrations for postcards and prints, but also patterns with the same colours and themes to go on other items such as notebooks or stationary for example. Animal-themed collections are one of the strongest evergreen categories in art licensing, although I narrowed down a little, here, focusing only on Atlantic fishes.
I like the fun but sophisticated feel you get from the palette I have used and the geometrical elements that accompany the playful shapes of the animals. What do you think?

Some of you might know that Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures has just been named the greatest debut album of all time by The Independent.
A first record that arrived fully formed: dark, restless, and emotionally raw.

Peter Hook’s basslines, Ian Curtis’s voice, that sense of mystery — nothing before it sounded like this, and nothing since really has. They change how music feels.
Iceland gives me the same sense of rawness and emotions that are impossible to explain with words. So inspired by this darkness and mystery, I created this artwork and called it “Unknown Iceland.” It took me quite a while to redesign the line-work of the album cover, this time shaped like Iceland, and even though it’s not really part of my actual creations, it’s still one of my favourites — just like the album.
