The song “Water” (or Āb in Persian) was inspired by Chabahar, a region in the south of Iran known for its arid deserts and limited prospects for the future. In Chabahar, the rivers have run dry, and the people face daily hardships. One woman, like many others, had to walk five kilometers each day to collect clean drinking water for her family.

Recorded by the brilliant at , “Water” is an ensemble project that captures the monotony and hardship of life in Chabahar.

It’s been six years since this photo was taken at a gig we played in a small venue called Cafe Tech. The organizer was later sentenced to six months in prison for hosting jam sessions there.
