Aerial Shots of International Airports by Jeffrey Milstein 27/07/2013

Inspired by a childhood spent filming planes at LAX with an 8-millimeter video camera, New York photographer and former Berkeley architecture student Jeffrey Milstein has turned his fascination for aviation into a career. Typically known for photographing the underbellies of aircrafts, Milstein’s latest series captures the artistic composition and elaborate array of patterns formed by airports and only seen from above. He describes this series as revealing “the patterns, layering and complexity of cities, and the circulation patterns for travel, such as waterways, roads, and airports that grow organically over time much like a living organism.

Have you ever stepped up to the top of a mountain using an elevator? No? Then you have not gone or traveled to Wulingyuan which located in Zhangjiajie, China. If you had gone or traveled to there then you certainly have seen the sharp towering elevator of Bailong which was built next to a large mountainside. The lift is designed to carry 48 people at once time, to take them to the top of the mountain on a trip with a speed of three meters per second. It is ranked after the completion of construction and building as the tallest external elevator in the world and the fastest elevator with a capacity that accommodate a large number of passengers at one time.

Prishtina Central Mosque Competition Entry Maden&Co 30/04/2013

Project Description from Maden&Co: The study starts from the first religious needs and the study of the earliest mosques architecture in Kosovo and in other countries to convey tradition through contemporary architecture. Our objective was to combine in the best mode architecture and religious rules. The idea was developed in geometric foundations, by combining to simple geometrical elements. Square as a simple and pure form, the perfect form, because what we want to convey is the purity of the faith, for us this form reflects the religion. Even in the earliest mosques the shape of the building based on the square, on a regular form where everything is equal as well as we are equal in front of God.
