Bhadrak Darshan — A 500-Year-Old Gift of Grace 🙏

Five hundred years ago, on His journey from Navadvipa toward Vrindavan, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu passed through Bhadrak, Odisha — and stopped at the ancient Radha Madana Mohana temple in Santhia village.
For five days, He stayed there with Sri Ramananda Raya, bathing at what devotees still call Gauranga Ghat on the banks of the sacred Salandi river.
Before continuing on toward Vrindavan, Mahaprabhu did something extraordinary — He gave His own personal cloth to Ganganarayana Vacaspati, the temple's sevaite at the time, as a token of His grace.
That cloth has been preserved ever since — for five centuries — by the sevaite's descendants, kept safely hidden away for most of the year.
But once a year, on Hera Panchami — the disappearance anniversary of Ganganarayana Thakura — the box is opened, and thousands of devotees gather for a rare and sacred darshan of Mahaprabhu's own cloth.
A living thread connecting us directly to the Lord, unbroken for 500 years. 🌼

Is it better to follow a discredited guru, or to have no guru at all?
It's a question most devotees carry quietly — and few dare to ask aloud.
Śrīla Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja answered it directly, drawing from Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī's Sandarbhas. And the answer begins not with the fall, but with something that comes before it.
Most heartbreak starts when we accept a guru without testing him first. So Jīva Gosvāmī gives a clear standard. Before initiation, examine:
→ Is he always chanting and remembering Kṛṣṇa?

→ Does he have genuine realization?

→ Does he know the śāstras well enough to remove every doubt?

→ Is he detached from worldly desire?
And if the test was skipped, and the guru falls? The instruction is direct: the moment you truly know, give up that connection — and don't despair. Search again, by the very same symptoms, and take initiation properly. The answer is never "no guru at all."
Because the goal was never the person. It was always Kṛṣṇa.

Mother Yamuna or Yamuna Devi?

What is the relationship between Radhika and Yamuna? Yamuna means Visakha. And what is the relationship between Radhika and Visakha? They are sakhis. Then what will be our relation with Yamuna? Will she be Mother or Sakhi?
All our relations depend on Radhika’s relationships.

Because if one has decided that I am [fixed in my relationship as an aspiring] maidservant of Srimati Radhika then such a person will not say - ‘Yamuna Maiya Ki Jaya’. Every relationship should depend especially on Srimati Radhika’s relationships.

Those who are not within the area of [who do not have] sambandha jnana, they can say like this [‘Yamuna Maiya Ki Jaya’]. It is not wrong. [Especially in case of karmis and non-Gaudiyas]

Intensity of the Gopis’ Love

Becoming maddened in separation from Krsna, the gopis and Srimati Radharani said to Uddhava- “Oh Uddhava! We do not have ten or twenty hearts. We had only one and that too has gone along with Krsna. You are asking us to focus on the worship of Krsna within our hearts, but that is possible only if our heart was with us!

You are very fortunate and a special recipient of Krsna's mercy that you may have 10-20-50-100 or even 1000 hearts such that you are able to render worship to thousands of personalities. But we had just one heart and that too has gone along with Syama. And we had two girlfriends who would console us and protect us from distress, one was 'sleep' and other ‘fainting (or losing consciousness)’. But they too have left us and gone along with Krsna. Now we are helpless and alone. How may we continue (to live)?"

Such were the ecstatic moods of the gopis. In reality, Krsna sent Uddhava as a messenger only for these gopis [to learn the nature of true love from them] and outwardly, He made an excuse that you must go and give this message [of consolation] to My parents and cowherd friends.
