There are lot of conclusions that can be drawn in this jallikattu issue,
#1) are the state parties trying to seal the emergence of new national parties in Tamil Nadu by tarnishing the image of bjp. The emergence of PETA organisation was during Congress period, ban on jallikattu was done during Congress period and in 2016 the ban was lifted for a small period by bjp govt. Are the state parties joining hands to eliminate bjp in Tamil Nadu, after all it is better for them to have any local party to rule rather than national party

#2) by prolonging the protest with out providing solution, the image of our chief minister would be hit bad and then he would be asked to step down. The saviour in the form of sasikala would emerge to provide a resolve for this? Is that the idea of admk?

#3) is the central govt trying to deviate the attention of people from upcoming elections, demonetization?

#4) the issue of jallikattu has been there for several years but why has the state government allowed the protest to go to this extent this year alone? Are they hiding the issue of farmers death through this protest?

What ever may be the political reason, this one seems to be a spontaneous one from the youth with out any political motive. We have started off well let's not forget the real cause and fight for it untill the pca act is amended.

The Tamil Nadu government has taken the ordinance route finally, and it was imperative for the state and not the central government to promulgate ordinance. Jallikattu is seen as a traditional sport in South India. Sports falls under the state list of schedule 7 of Constitution and hence it is the responsibility of the state. If cruelty prevails during sport then central govt has the rights to make amendments to the law since prevention of cruelty to animals falls under central list.

Let us have a look at the provision provided in the Constitution and see how vague the verdict of our honourable supreme Court is.

“Bull” has been included in the list of animals, not to be exhibited or trained as “performing animal”

According to Rule 2(h) of the Rules, "performing animal" means an animal which is being used at or for the purpose of any entertainment including a film or an equine event to which the public are admitted.

Section 21 says that "exhibit" would mean exhibit at any entertainment to which the public are admitted through sale of tickets and "train" would mean train for the purpose of any such exhibition.

Section 22 imposes a restriction on exhibition and training of performing animal and empowers the Central Government to specify any such animal, by way of notification, who shall not be exhibited or trained as a performing animal. According to the aforesaid provisions of law, the restriction imposed under Section 22 of the Act would apply in respect of performing animal who has been exhibited or trained for a public view through "sale of tickets and not otherwise. "

-- So if Jallikattu event is conducted for free without the sale of tickets, it must be legal --

However, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has made an overreaching presumption stating, "In Jallikattu, Bull is expected to fight with various Bull tamers, for which it is incited solely to provide entertainment for the spectators by sale of tickets or otherwise."
Does that mean that it is a ban only when there is sale of tickets ?

Jallikattu is one of the chronological order to sustain different bull breeds. There were more than 130 cattle breeds in india 100 years ago and now there are only 37. Unless we engage with the traditional livestock keepers and support them, we will lose these breeeds and lay ground for foreign jersey cows, commercial diaries and slaughter houses to dominate tamil nadu and India. The remaining and existing breeds now are KANGEYAM, PULIKULAM, UMBALACHERY, BARUGUR and MALAI MADU. These breeds are not only used for mating purpose but also serve the purposes like
1)Treatments like Panchagavya and Jeevamirtham
2)Source of A2 milk
Why Jallikattu matters?
Stud bulls are reared by people and the ones that win are in much demand for servicing the cows. Every village has a common temple bull which services all the cows in the village.
Chronological order:
Rearing of Stud bulls-> Jallikattu event-> Shandies(country side markets organised-> Bulls are bought for servicing-> Production of Diary products from cows and bulls are used as draught animals
Supreme court through its ban has touched a sensitive matter( cultural identity of Tamilians) .Under the Constitution, legislative and administrative actions can be reviewed by courts under Articles 32, 136, 226 and 227. An ordinance should be passed and the ban should be lift citing the problems and agonies the current farmers are facing in the state. A big salute to the youngsters for staging a protest through non-violence. As stated by Mahatma Gandhi, Satyagraha or non- violence is the biggest weapon to agitate and its just matter of time the youths of tamil nadu would emerge victorious!!!

Its time for basket ball games in vellore and Don Bosco school in Gandhi nagar,Vellore played the perfect host for the players who had participated. We the KITES took this opportunity to facilitate the players and give away Football Studs to the most deserving and under privileged players from the boarding school Don Bosco. These players in coming months would be representing the state level foot ball tournament.
The key is not the will to win. Everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important. Its time that we help these students to prepare to win.
Many thanks to the pricipal of Don Bosco; Irudayaraj sir, Malcom, Manny for helping Kites to be a part of this stage.

Hi All,

We all know Chennai has faced the worst disaster in the last 100 years and the people of Chennai are fighting hard against this. This has indeed proved that humanity is the ultimate tool to fight over any disaster. Politicians might segregate us using religion, caste and creed, But humanity has united all of us.

We can see that many folks have saved many lives risking their own and a lot of people contributing with relief materials and opening doors for people to stay. There has been a lot of contributions across the state and the neighbouring.

We from KITES collected contributions from our members and we were able to pull off relief materials to Chennai and Cuddalore. Please find the pics added in the KITES album.

I'd like specially thank the Element14 folks who have collected a huge amount and coordinated with the chennai folks to deliver the materials. Thank You Lokesh Kumar and Ram Kumaar for taking the initiative of collecting funds from the Bank Of India employees.

A hearty thank you to Sujay Tg who is now in chennai with the materials he and his friends collected. Proud of you man!!!

From what we collected, we were able to send half of the relief materials to Chennai and half to Cuddalore. But, the funds raised were only contributed by few of the members. Pleople who are interested to contribute kindly do so and we will be able to send more relief to the affected areas.

I also like to tell members of KITES to come up with ideas to support and help the affected areas. Support is needed from all you guys.

Thank You!!!

My Story: Relief Services Forced To Put Amma Stickers On Donated Relief Materials We have heard a lot about how politicians try to cash on every opportunity, but this is a new low. Jayalalitha and other politicians were not at all visible when Chennai was getting deluged by heavy rains, people helped themselves and came out of this tragedy. Now, when people from different states…
