What is NCR in Civil QA/QC?

NCR (Non-Conformance Report) is raised when executed work, material, or a process does not comply with the approved drawing, specification, ITP, method statement, or applicable requirements.

A proper NCR process is not just about identifying a mistake. It ensures the issue is controlled, corrected, verified, documented, and formally closed.

🏗️ **What are WP & ITP, and why are they necessary?**

**WP – Work Procedure:** Explains **HOW the work will be executed**—method, sequence, resources, safety/quality requirements and applicable specifications.

**ITP – Inspection & Test Plan:** Defines **WHAT will be inspected/tested, WHEN, by WHOM, acceptance criteria, and what RECORDS must be maintained.**

**Why necessary?**
WP controls **how we execute**; ITP controls **how we verify quality**. Together they help prevent mistakes, ensure compliance, obtain required approvals, and maintain traceable QA/QC records.

**Simple rule:**
👉 **WP = How to do the work**
👉 **ITP = How to inspect & prove the work is acceptable**
