The above pictures are from Chorok mela which is widely celebrated by Bengalis of Tripura, West Bengal and Assam. It's one of the most culturally sacred festivals of the Bengali community celebrated during the last day of choitro maas(last month of the Bengali calendar year). This festival is dedicated to Shivji. Another important part of this festival is the Gajon dance. Which is done by the person presented as mahadev dancing around the whole festival for a period of time also before celebrating this festival Shiv and Parvati go around the village with others to collect contributions for this festival for a few days.
