Is Type 2 Diabetes reversible?
Yes it is! Provided that it's detected early.
Unfortunately focus of many guidelines is on preventing complications rather than reversing it.
Do read this article.

Reversal by life style modification doesn't even cost money but needs a huge determination.

Research now exists that suggests reversal is possible through other means that have only recently been embraced in the ...

What do you think about artificial sweeteners? I have tried it for weight loss...didn't work. What's your experience? Does it work? Is it safe?
Here is a good article about artificial sweeteners.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4899993/
My take:
1) if you are consuming less than 5 to 6 teaspoon of sugar in a day total (but in divided doses) then you don't even think about it. 6 teaspoon is 30 gram sugar..just about 100 kcal. Walk for 20 extra min and it will be taken care of.
2) if you are eating more than that ...say kheer /pastry /gulabjamun etc then the basic ingredient of the food item may be more dangerous than sugar eg: maida/Khowa etc. You are likely to eat more of it thinking that it has artificial sweetener so safer.
In general, stay away from artificial sweeteners as far as possible. If you still want to use it, then you need to modify the whole diet to shift to healthier food choices in general to see some positive effect on weight/body fat/sugar control.
Artificial sweeteners as a sugar substitute: Are they really safe? Nonnutritive sweeteners (NNS) have become an important part of everyday life and are increasingly used nowadays in a variety of dietary and medicinal products. They provide fewer calories and far more intense sweetness than sugar-containing products and ...
With vaccination drive starting , hopefully COVID will come under control. Hopefully it will take back seat and bigger killers like diabetes and related complications will get more attention.
Will keep this page updated regularly from now onwards.
Lockdown
Some may consider it as bad as jail or emergency etc
But consider it as opportunity given to you to shift focus from many unnecessary things to your actual needs
Consider it as opportunity to focus on your health.
You have been given *Three* full *weeks* to kick start your turn around for better health and fitness
*If you are overweight* : time to lose fat
*If you are undeweight* : time to gain healthy muscle
*If you are in good fitness* : time to focus on higher goals
So don't be a couch potato for 21 days and criticize the system. Take control of your health
Believe me... you can do all this even at home. You just need to figure out how and you have ample time to think and plan it.
Keep one thing in mind. As long as you have gravity( I mean real gravitational force of earth) to work for you, you don't need to hit gym/go on road/go to swimming.
So check your baseline fitness today...work on indoor (home) exercise and your diet as per *your own plan* and see the difference in 3 weeks. You all are educated enough to know which food is good and which is bad. You have *YouTube* to help you with exercises.
If you are sincere then *Results are guaranteed* !
Best luck

Conquer Diabetes conducted a session on Myths and facts about Diet in Diabetes for Rotary club of Panaji Midtown . It was a fruitful session with good participation in discussion from the audience.
If you want to lose weight...you just need to
1) Reduce current carbs by about 20%
2) Have 1 gram/kg good quality protein
3) Eat good quality fats (nuts and oil from nuts) while avoiding animal fats.
4) Have home made food or freshly made food in hotel rather than packaged food from stores
Looks easy....isn't it? Try it out for a month and let us know
In general I prefer debit card over credit card .....you earn first and then spend
For calories...credit card system is better.....you spend first and then eat.
So...if you are trying to lose weight & if you have a party planned....go through 30 extra minutes of workout to enjoy food without bad effects
