Jitu (Jitendra Patel) approached me one day in 2015 with an idea — simple and sincere: to capture paper and the shadows of animals formed through paper folds. I wasn’t sure at first. But when I saw the initial preparation, something clicked. I thought, what if light itself became the main character of the film?

That decision changed everything.

Once uploaded, the film spread like wildfire — though the word “viral” wasn’t viral yet!

Looking back, See What You Save wasn’t just about saving paper or forests — it was about connection. Jitu, Ashok, and the Arthat team became friends for life.

In this 3-day filmmaking workshop, participants will take their first steps into the exciting world of cinema. They will be introduced to the basic elements of filmmaking.
Each day will be a mix of observing, connecting dots inside out, learning and doing. We’ll watch powerful short films from around the world and explore how they were made. Participants will work on creative exercises to develop their own story ideas. On the second day, they’ll bring those ideas to life by shooting a short visual film. On the third day, we will come together to edit the film and shape it into a complete piece of art.
This workshop is designed to spark imagination, build teamwork, and help participants experience the joy of telling stories through film.

Mentor
Janantik Shukla �Janantik Shukla is a student of cinema and literature. He works as a director, shooter and researcher. Janantik is a recipient of Masters in Film and TV direction from SCAD, Savannah, US. His debut mobile short film was nominated at Interfilm Short Film Festival, Berlin. His documentary films have run in film festival circuit. He has worked with clients like Aditya Birla, Google, World Wide Fund, Seva Mandir, Arch Vahini, ZDF German TV, Democratic Party – New York Chapter and many others. He is also working in Mumbai film industry as second unit director and associate.

A Film on Seva Mandir's Youth Programme

Imagine a remote village in the faraway corners of Rajasthan. Would you see a group of girls playing a game with boys that isn’t very popular in the region? Yes, Seva Mandir made it possible!
They have built over 57 playgrounds in 60 remote villages of southern Rajasthan, engaging more than 5,000 young people, with 52% of them being girls. Through sports Seva Mandir team is teaching critical life skills.
