UDATE FOR THE RADIOGRAPHY & MEDICAL IMAGING COMMUNITY.
The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, has officially released Corrigendum-1 for the Competency Based Curriculum in Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (MRIT).
This corrigendum brings several major academic and professional reforms for the future of Radiography and Medical Imaging education in India.
🔹 KEY HIGHLIGHTS:
Official Degree Nomenclature Revised
• BMRIT → Bachelor of Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (B.MRIT)
• MMRIT → Master of Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology (M.MRIT)
Lateral Entry Introduced
Diploma holders in the same discipline can now enter directly into the 2nd Year (3rd Semester) of B.MRIT. This is a significant academic progression pathway for diploma Radiographers & Technologists.
NEET Requirement Removed for B.MRIT
Admission shall now be based on 10+2 merit and institutional/university processes instead of mandatory NEET.
NCAHP Registration Emphasized
Postgraduate entrance now requires compulsory registration under NCAHP, strengthening professional regulation and identity.
Expanded Eligibility for M.MRIT
Multiple equivalent Radiography and Imaging qualifications have now been recognized for postgraduate admissions.
PhD Pathway Strengthened
Clear eligibility criteria for PhD admissions in Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology have been incorporated, promoting academic research and professional advancement.
Internship Stipend Policy Updated
Internship stipend decisions will now be governed by respective State Allied & Healthcare Councils.
