2 Yatris killed, 6 injured in mysterious blast at Bijbehara
: Two Amarnath pilgrims died and six others were wounded in a mysterious explosion near Bijbehara on Srinagar- Jammu highway on Saturday.
Sources said that explosion occurred after a gas cylinder caught fire in a Winger vehicle in which pilgrims were travelling.
However, a top police official said that they are ascertaining the nature of the blast.
Bandipora tense after civilian killing
(Bandipora): Protests erupted in the Aloosa, Gurdal, Kema and adjoining villages here in north Kashmir after youth, Hilal Ahmad Dar, 25, son of Ghulam Mahiudin Dar of Lahipora Ajas was allegedly gunned down by Army in Helmathpora forests of Ashtangoo.
Residents of various villages like Kanibathi, Ashtangoo, Aloosa, Benlipora, Lohipora, and Kema marched towards main town Bandipora carrying the body of the deceased. Mourners clashed with police and CRPF and pelted stones on them near Gurdal. Later on mourners reached Ongam village where police resorted to aerial firing. “We will not burry the body till Chief Minster Omer Abdullah intervenes,” mourners said
Tremor shakes Valley
A mild intensity quake shook Kashmir Valley in the wee hours today but there was no report of any damage due to it.
"An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 was recorded at 1.37 AM. The epicentre of the tremor was in Hindukush region of Afghanistan," the coordinator of the Disaster Management Cell Amir Ali said.
He said there were no reports of any damage caused by the tremor in the Valley.

Editor-in-Chief of Daily Excelsior passes away
S D Rohmetra, Editor-in-Chief of the english daily of Jammu and Kashmir Daily Excelsior passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi early this morning after brief illness.
He was 73.
M***i Bashiruddin hospitalized
Grand M***i Bashiruddin was hospitalized Thursday morning following a “mild heart attack”.
The M***i Azam is presently in the Intensive Care Unit of SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura. Doctors are monitoring his condition

No compromise on Kashmir: Pak
Islamabad: Pakistan today said the upcoming meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will contribute to intra-regional peace though there would be no compromise on the "core issue" of Kashmir or maintaining a credible nuclear deterrence.
