Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Chairs High-Level Meeting for Smooth Conduct of Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026
Anantnag, May 30:
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir chaired a high-level review meeting to assess and finalize arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026.
The meeting was attended by senior civil and police officials, representatives of various departments, and district administrations associated with the pilgrimage. Discussions focused on strengthening infrastructure, ensuring adequate facilities for pilgrims, enhancing security measures, traffic management, healthcare services, sanitation, power and water supply, and emergency response mechanisms along the Yatra routes.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, presented a detailed brief on the preparations and activities undertaken by the district administration for the annual pilgrimage. He highlighted the status of ongoing works, arrangements for accommodation, sanitation, medical facilities, and coordination among different departments to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination and directed all concerned agencies to complete pending works well before the commencement of the Yatra.
He emphasized that every effort should be made to provide a safe, comfortable, and seamless experience for pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine.
Officials assured the meeting that all necessary measures are being taken on a priority basis and that preparations are progressing as per the planned schedule for the successful conduct of the Annual Amarnath Yatra 2026.
