*Pulwama Police Arrests Drug Offender; Recovers Contraband at Khalsa Parigam*

Dec. 6````` Continuing its sustained efforts to curb the menace of drugs, Pulwama Police today arrested a drug offender during routine naka checking at Khalsa Parigam. The accused has been identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mochi, son of Abdul Rashid Mochi, resident of Khalsa Parigam. Upon his search, 94 grams of charas powder-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In this regard, FIR No. 281/2025 under Sections 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station, and further investigation has been set into motion.

Soldier Dies During Training at Khrew.

A soldier posted at the Training School (BTS) Khrew namely Rifleman Manoj Kumar Upadhyay suddenly fell unconscious while undergoing routine training at the facility.

He was immediately shifted to the unit’s MI Room and subsequently evacuated to 92 Base Hospital Srinagar, where doctors declared him dead, official sources said.

Police has taken cognizance of the incident and initiated the necessary legal proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the soldier’s death.

Massive Blast Inside Police Station Nowgam During Inspection of Seized Explosive

Srinagar:Casualties are feared after a massive late-night blast rocked Nowgam Police Station at around 11:20 pm on Friday, sources said.

The explosion reportedly occurred when a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, along with police personnel and the local Tehsildar, was inspecting a large quantity of ammonium nitrate that had been confiscated earlier in a high-profile inter-state terror network case, in which 2,900 kg of IED-making material was recovered.

The investigation—described by police as a “white-collar terror ecosystem” involving professionals and students radicalised through encrypted channels with alleged foreign links—has so far led to the arrest of seven key operatives, including two doctors, Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Adeel, who were allegedly involved in fundraising, logistics, and procurement of arms and bomb-making material.

The blast reportedly took place during the sampling and inspection process, causing extensive damage inside the station and injuring several members of the inspection team. While the exact number of casualties is yet to be officially confirmed, multiple injuries are feared.

Officials later confirmed that at least eight personnel sustained injuries in the accidental blast at Nowgam Police Station while taking samples of the explosive material seized in Faridabad.

Authorities emphasised that the incident was not a terror attack, but an accidental detonation during the handling of highly sensitive material.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident,” an official said.

Emergency teams immediately rushed all injured personnel to the hospital, while the area has been secured for further examination. More details are awaited

*J&K Police arrests 02 Hybrid terrorists in Sopore; arms & ammunition recovered*

*November 13:* ```J&K Police in Sopore along with 22 RR and 179BN CRPF, arrested two hybrid terrorists during a joint naka operation at Sadeeq Colony, Mominabad Sopore. The naka was established following specific input regarding movement of suspicious individuals in the area.

During checking, two persons coming from Fruit Mandi Sopore towards Ahat Baba Crossing attempted to flee on noticing the presence of police and security forces. The joint team acted promptly and apprehended both individuals on the spot.

The arrested persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmad Najar son of Mohammad Akbar Najar resident of Mohalla Tawheed Colony Maazbugh and Shabir Ahmad Mir son of Mohammad Sultan Mir resident of Brath Sopore. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 01 pistol, 01 magazine, 20 live rounds and 02 hand grenades were recovered from their possession. The recoveries indicate their involvement in terror-related activities in the area.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 253/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation has been set into motion. J&K Police reaffirm their commitment to maintaining peace and security across the valley.```

*02 Drug Peddlers Arrested by Awantipora Police; Narcotic Substances Recovered.*

Awantipora 06 November 2025:

Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, Police in Awantipora achieved a major success by arresting two drug peddlers and recovering contraband substances from their possession.

During a joint naka checking at Kachkoot, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora, Insp. Ajaz Hmad, and IC Police Post Toll Plaza, SI Ishfaq Ahmad, apprehended two persons who were found roaming under suspicious circumstances.

The apprehended persons have been identified as:
1. Farooq Ahmad Zaroo, S/O Gh. Mohd Zaroo, R/O Sether,
2. Ifahaz Ul Mushtaq, S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, R/O Pujteng.

During their personal search, the following contraband substances were recovered from their possession:

Heroin-like substance weighing 5.42 grams, Charas-powder like substance weighing 553 grams and Charas stick weighing 26.43 grams.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 242/2025 under sections 8/20, 21, and 29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Awantipora. Both the accused persons have been apprehended.
