Classification of Fire Extinguisher-There are four classes of fire extinguishers – A, B, C and D – and each class can put out a different type of fire.

Fire Extinguisher-A fire extinguisher is a handheld active fire protection device usually filled with a dry or wet chemical used to extinguish or control small fires, often in emergencies.

Extinguishing Method of fire
1.Cooling Method ( For reducing the Heat)
2.Blanketing Method ( For Removing of O2)
3.Starvation Method ( For Removing of fuel)
As you know that three things are essential for burning of fire that are Heat, Fuel and Oxygen. and by using one the method we can easily extinguish the fire .because if we cut of any of the essential ( Heat,Fuel,O2) the fire cannot be continue longer.

Classes of fire
Class A – fires involving solid materials such as wood, paper or textiles.
Class B – fires involving flammable liquids such as petrol, diesel or oils.
Class C – fires involving gases.
Class D – fires involving metals.
Class E – fires involving live electrical apparatus.

Oxygen, heat, and fuel are frequently referred to as the "fire triangle." Add in the fourth element, the chemical reaction, and you actually have a fire "tetrahedron." The important thing to remember is: take any of these four things away, and you will not have a fire or the fire will be extinguisher
