One of my old tea garden friends rang me yesterday. He was manager in Dooars of Goodricke group. He had been transferred to Assam to another Goodricke garden as Manager. His team was also absorbed in different same group's other gardens.
Goodricke is a MNC and execs were highly paid and provided with nice facilities in the garden. Similarly they treat their staff and workers properly.
They sold their 3rd garden in May 2026, with the intention to cut down the bank interest and capital reinvestment. They want to improve factory efficiencies, tea tourism, dairy farming, and organic spices in their existing group. Is tea business is less attractive then tea tourism business !

I saw a news from tea Board. The climate change is hurting Assam tea. Its not just normal production loss due to heavy rain or heavy drought.
If tea gardens don’t get proper rain between April and July, bushes struggle to grow — and long dry periods followed by sudden heavy showers can even kill them.
The Tea Board has reported a drop of nearly 90 million kg due to climate change.
It’s not just quantity — the chemical composition of Assam Tea is also being affected. If chemical traits of Assam tea is changed, it does not remain the Assam Tea.

If Mr Trump becomes a Tea Garden Manager in Assam or in Dooars, what happens then! He will be beaten by workers and staff everyday. Probably Asst Managers and other exec will join that Trump Pitao group.
President Trump announced at least 37 times from March 26 to todate, a deal has been reached with Iran or end of war is imminent.
Within hours of his announcements, either Iran announced or attacked US military bases or US bombed Iran.
As a tea garden Manager he might announce 25% bonus in bonus meeting and next morning he would announce 6.33% bonus.
How did an eccentric man become a President of US. He wanted to make America Great Again and is destroying world economy including US.
Iran is a terrorism supporter. US could not even control it in last 4 months.

The shipping problem to Middle east continues. It has become an example of permanent continuous tense.
The Ukraine war started earlier, so far I remember on 24 February 2022.
Iran USA war on 28 February 2026.
World has forgotten about Russia Ukraine war, rarely I find update in news. Iran news comes up, because every other day conflicting statements by US President and Iran refusal.
All these fighting nations make their citizen suffer and make other countries suffer.
Only people happy who make war materials.

Assam Govt has started free transport for tea garden students in 11 districts of Assam. Nearly 10,000 students will benefit from this initiative.
Assam Govt is also upgrading Tea Garden Hospitals. 354 Tea Garden Hospitals have already been updated.
200 state‑run Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have started functioning in June inside the tea belts as of early June.
Another important step Assam Govt took this year was the increase of incentive from ₹10 per kg to ₹15 per kg for orthodox and specialty tea production.
If all these initiatives and the EU Blue Valley Cluster Initiatives align, it will be long‑term good news for Assam as well as the Indian Tea Industry.

EU is very strict against any contaminated food. One definition of their contaminated food is pesticide residue level must not be above 0.01 to 0.05 ppm. That is good. They think about the health of their citizen.
In India, Tea Board announces Plant Protection Code since 2010. Latest Plant Protection Code has been announced in April 2026. The code lists explicitly approved Plant Protection Formulations along with their Maximum Residue Limits synchronized with FSSAI policy.
One of the advises of Tea Board is to keep a gap of minimum 7 days between Pesticide spray and tea plucking.
Pesticide use only with Tea Board approved chemicals.
Tea gardens must submit compliance report and renewal of manufacturing license is subject to full compliance of PPC.
Indian Govt also strictly wants healthy citizen.

In the past two years, from May 2024 to May 2026, the European Union has rejected 450 Indian products before they could enter its market. Out of these, 365 were stopped because of pesticide residue and toxic heavy metals.
The EU allows only between 0.01 ppm and 0.05 ppm of pesticide or insecticide residue, which is the lowest level that can be detected in a laboratory. In our tea gardens, these chemicals are still being used.
The Tea Board of India has taken this issue very seriously. Renewal of a tea manufacturing license is now directly linked to compliance with the Plant Protection Code.
The Blue Valley Cluster in Guwahati is being developed to remove export bottlenecks. This hub will apply EU standards right at the source, ensuring that tea from Assam and other states meets EU requirements even before leaving Indian shores.

After the record CTC prices achieved by Dekhiajhuli and other gardens, another piece of good news has arrived for Assam’s tea industry.
A high‑level delegation of European Ambassadors is visiting Guwahati today for a two‑day trip. Tomorrow, the Assam Government will launch the first Blue Valley Cluster — a new concept that goes beyond a regular industrial park.
Built under the India‑Europe Public‑Private‑People Partnership (4P) model, this cluster is designed from the ground up to act as a unified export‑readiness hub, directly linking Northeast India and Bhutan with European Union supply chains.
Tea from the entire North‑East region will also be part of this export network.

Still I am thinking about the prices received by Dekiajhuli TE. Rs 1103/KG BP lot was bought by Guwahati based M/s Kamrup Tea Company. The other BOPSM lot rated Rs 973/KG was bought by Tata Consumer Products Limited.
Tata is a national cash reach company. Makes own tea brands. Definitely it has multinational buyers.
The never paid price before, paid by M/s Kamrup Tea Company is greater achievement.
Sotai TE, another consistent high quality tea maker reached Rs 889/ KG and Hookmol TE another top garden received Rs 831 / KG in the same sale. I will always wonder how do these gardens make their tea which are always high quality. They are getting same heat, same humid and facing similar tea garden management problems. Still always at top class.

Dekhiajhuli now can be regarded as Assam’s finest gardens. They were always top class. And now they are the top.
Over the past two weeks, their sales have been nothing short of remarkable. Last week, their BOPSM sold at ₹800 per kilo. This week, BP touched ₹1,103 per kilo, while another lot of BOPSM fetched ₹973 per kilo at GTAC. All of these were CTC teas, proving the garden’s consistent sincerity and aiming the sky.
In the same auction, more than 65,000 kilos of high‑quality tea went under the hammer at premium prices above ₹400 per kilo. The numbers speak for themselves — no extra words are needed. As Assamese, and as Indians, we can feel proud of this achievement.
My regards full question that is coming to all of us : who are the General Manager, Plantation Manager, and Factory Manager of Dekhiajhuli today? Their leadership has turned the impossible into reality.
