Silchar..The Love City

The Assam Cabinet has approved the construction of Silchar's first five-star hotel by the Polo Hotels Group. The project, involving an investment of approximately ₹103 crore, will feature 100 rooms to boost hospitality and business in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Silchar on March 14, 2026. In preparation, the Cachar district administration has imposed strict traffic regulations and declared the area a temporary no-fly zone (banning drones) from March 10th to 14th, particularly around the Ambikapur area.
