Sheikh Mohammad Rafi

JKNC Senior Leader and Former MLA Shopian Sheikh Mohammad Rafi has expressed deep concern over the widespread damage caused by recent hailstorms in various areas of Shopian district. The unseasonal weather has severely affected crops and orchards, leaving farmers and fruit growers facing substantial losses.

Sheikh Rafi has urged the Hon’ble Minister for Horticulture, Javed Ahmad Dar Sahab along with all concerned departments, to immediately conduct a comprehensive assessment of the damage and ensure adequate compensation and relief for the affected families. He stressed that the government must stand firmly with the farming community during this difficult time and take swift measures to safeguard their livelihoods and address their genuine concerns.

Today, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Miss Sakina Itoo-NC Noorabad Sahiba visited the Pulwama Circuit House to conduct a Public Darbar for the districts of Shopian and Pulwama. Several delegations from the Shopian constituency led by Sheikh Mohammad Rafi, met the Minister and highlighted various public issues and day to day concerns faced by the people.
Rafi Sahib highlighted the shortage of doctors and staff, lack of 24×7 emergency and diagnostic services, non-functional ECHO facility due to the absence of a Cardiologist, limited USG services, and the urgent need for a Gastroenterologist in view of the rising gastrointestinal health concerns in the district.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the delegations and assured them that their genuine demands and grievances would be addressed on priority and that necessary measures would be taken for their early resolution.

The Public Darbar was also attended by Hon’ble MLAs Showkat Hussain Ganie Sahib and Hasnain Masoodi Sahib, along with former Minister Mohammad Khalil Bandh Sahib, who actively participated in the proceedings and interacted with the public regarding their concerns.
