J&K Police Offers ₹20 Lakh Reward for Information on Pahalgam Attack Terrorists
Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir — In a significant move to combat terrorism in the region, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have placed posters across Shopian offering a reward of ₹20 lakh for information leading to the capture of those responsible for the recent Pahalgam attack. This initiative comes in response to rising security concerns following the assault that left several locals in shock and raised alarms about safety in the area.
The posters feature images of the suspected terrorists and appeal to the public for assistance, underscoring the police's commitment to maintaining peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir. “We urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. Your anonymity will be ensured,” a police spokesperson stated, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in tackling terrorism.
The Pahalgam attack, which occurred earlier this month, has reignited fears of violence in what is often viewed as a popular tourist destination. Local authorities are working diligently to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
Residents have expressed their concerns over security but have also shown resilience, rallying behind law enforcement efforts. The police department is hopeful that the substantial reward will encourage individuals to step forward with crucial information.
As investigations continue, security forces remain on high alert, and ongoing operations are in place to apprehend those involved in the attack. Community leaders have called for unity in the face of these challenges, urging citizens to support law enforcement in the pursuit of peace.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police encourage individuals with information to contact their offices directly or use the anonymous tip lines provided in the posters. Together, they hope to restore a sense of safety and security in the region.

Alhumdulilah. Better sense has prevailed and India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire . It’s a huge relief for all, especially those living on both sides of the LOC where precious lives were lost and shelter and livelihoods destroyed. The possibility of talks among the two as stated by US secretary Marco Rubio on broad set of issues, is a welcome outcome. Talks is the means to peace and stability. Glad that leadership on both sides agreed to this .
