Kolkata-based Ruia Group has entered into binding agreements to acquire two automotive sealing systems manufacturing companies in Europe. The companies include Turkey-based Standard Profil AS and Germany-based Meteor Gummiwerke KH Badje GmbH and Co KG. Ruia also said that the group will set up a manufacturing plant in Pune with a total investment of Rs 100 crore.

Everest Industries proposes to invest Rs 50 crore to set up a 1lakh tonne capacity fibre cement plant in Orissa. The company is in the process of identifying 20 acres land for the new plant to manufacture produce roofing solution products.

Tube Investments of India Ltd., of the Murugappa group proposes to invest around Rs 600 crore in a combination of both green and brownfield expansions to manufacture bicycles, tubes and chains. The company has reached almost full capacity and has planned expansion of capacities by 30-35 percent, across all segments.

Prominent healthcare chain Max Healthcare will invest around Rs 600 crore to launch four new hospitals by the end of this year to increase its bed capacity in the country by 1,000 beds. The new multi-speciality hospitals are proposed to come up at Bhatinda and Mohali in Punjab, Shalimar Bagh in Delhi and Dehradun.

Hindusthan National Glass Industries Ltd today plans to invest up to Rs 5,000 crore in the next five years . HNGIL currently has plants at Bahadurgarh in Haryana, Nashik in Maharashtra and Neemrana in Rajasthan. It is setting up a new one at Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh. It plans to invest Rs 2,500 crore to set up a new facility, and is scouting for a location in Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

JK Organisation plans to set up a 1,360 MW power plant near Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh, on which it will make an initial investment of Rs 1,300 crore within two years.

Patodia Group has proposed to set up a 1320 Mw (2x660) thermal power plant at Rampela in Jharsuguda District. The work has not yet started and the completion is targeted in mid 2014.

Delta Electronics (Thailand), the largest SET-listed electronics firm, plans to raise its capital expenditure to US$70 million (2.11 billion baht) this year, from $40 million spent last year, mainly for building new plants in India and Slovakia. The Chennai plant and the second Slovakia unit, which would make solar inverters, are expected to start production in mid-2012.

Shasun Pharmaceuticals expects to set up its long over-due plant in Visakhapatnam this year. The company will invest Rs 100 crore in the plant that will manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), and the investment will be spread over two years.

Sark Systems India in consortium with Agrigold group, Vijayawada (AP) has received an order worth Rs 59 crore from public sector undertaking ECIL. The consortium has bagged an order for setting up data center, data entry and biometric data collection of citizens covering 9 districts of Andhra Pradesh – Guntur, Prakasam, Nalgonda, Krishna, East Godavari, West Godavari, Chittor, Cudapah and Nellore.
