CRY IITR Chapter is proud to announce Mr. Arvind, a 1st-year PhD scholar in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, as the Volunteer of the Month for March & April, recognizing his dedication, consistent efforts, and meaningful contribution towards CRY activities. 🌟
In his words, “Receiving the ‘Volunteer of the Month’ award means a lot to me because CRY has been more than just a volunteering group in my journey at IIT Roorkee. Through CRY, I got the opportunity to interact with children, parents, and communities, which helped me understand real social challenges and the importance of guidance, awareness, and support at the grassroots level.
One of the biggest impacts CRY had on me was changing my perspective towards teamwork and people. During my Master’s degree, I was not much connected with UG students or students from different departments. After joining CRY, I worked closely with UG, PG, and PhD students, from whom I learned confidence, teamwork, initiative, and energy.
What I like most about CRY is how it brings together people from different backgrounds and skill sets for a meaningful social cause. Whether it is PMMs, mentoring, awareness programmes, RTE visits, or children’s events, every activity creates both social impact and personal growth. I am thankful to the team for giving me opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow as a person.” 💫
We are grateful to have volunteers like Arvind, whose dedication and commitment continue to create a meaningful impact in the lives of children and within the CRY family. 💛

CRY IITR Chapter is proud to announce Mr. Nitish, a B.Tech. 2nd-year student in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, as the Volunteer of the Month for March & April, recognizing his dedication, leadership, and meaningful contribution towards CRY activities. 🌟
In his words, “My one-year experience with CRY IIT Roorkee has been truly amazing and memorable. During this journey, I met many new people and learned a lot from them. Working with different people improved my confidence, communication, and teamwork skills.
CRY also gave me opportunities to take up leadership responsibilities, which brought completely new experiences into my life. Managing work, helping others, and working as a team taught me many valuable lessons.
The most special part of this journey was the bond I built with the children during mentorship. Spending time with them, teaching them, talking to them, and celebrating moments together brought me immense happiness. Celebrating Diwali, Republic Day, birthdays, and many small occasions together created memories that I will always cherish.
I also learned leadership qualities and life lessons from my seniors that will guide me in the future. Now, interacting with our lovely juniors feels equally special because of the warmth and connection we share.
Overall, my journey in CRY IIT Roorkee has been full of learning, leadership, bonding, memories, and happiness, and it will always remain close to my heart.” 💫
We are grateful to have volunteers like Nitish, whose dedication and positive spirit continue to create a meaningful impact in the lives of children and within the CRY family. 💛

“Your body belongs to you, and your voice is your superpower. Safety isn’t just a rule; it’s a right every child deserves to carry.”
On April 18, the CRY IIT Roorkee Chapter visited Kendriya Vidyalaya, Roorkee to lead a deeply impactful and grasping session on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) awareness. We believe that by giving children the right words today, we prevent their silence tomorrow.
Using detailed and engaging slides, our speakers illustrated the concept of the “Safety Circle.” The visuals helped students clearly distinguish between safe, unsafe, and confusing touches.
From understanding personal boundaries to identifying “trusted adults,” the session was highly interactive. Students felt safe to ask questions, clearing doubts about personal boundaries.
The team effort was nothing short of inspiring balancing the sensitivity of the topic with the energy needed to keep young minds focused.
Together, we aren’t just teaching lessons; we are building a shield around childhood.💪🌟💛

Social media is a great tool, but it should never replace the beauty of real-life connections or the clarity of an independent mind.
On April 11, 2026, the CRY IITR Chapter organised an impactful social media awareness session at Jai Krishna Public School, Khanjarpur. In an era where the digital footprint is as significant as the physical one, our mission was to equip students with the tools to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
The session highlighted the impact of social media on our daily lives, both positive and negative, and offered simple, practical solutions for using it wisely.💛
The speakers made every slide count, grabbing students’ attention, and students' active participation made the session lively. The school's teaching staff highly appreciated the team's initiative and efforts.🙌
The session ended with a collective realisation: students learned to filter their feeds, not their lives, protect their digital boundaries, and use social media as a tool for impact rather than a trap for comparison. ✨

CRY IITR Chapter is proud to announce Ms. Supriya, a 1st-year PhD scholar at the Department of Physics, as the Volunteer of the Month for the month of February.🌟
In her words, “When I joined CRY, I never imagined it would turn out to be one of the finest decisions I’ve made. I had always wished to be a part of an organisation like CRY, and now that I am here, I feel truly grateful.
Every time I go to teach the children, my heart feels full. Their innocence and happiness are so pure, and hearing them say, ‘We want to study with Supriya, ma’am,’ instantly takes away all the tiredness from a hectic day.
Everyone in the team here feels like a second family to me. Through this journey, I am learning so much as a person from stepping out of my introverted shell and connecting with people to actively participating in discussions and growing more confident each day. I truly cherish every moment with CRY.”
We are grateful to have volunteers like Supriya, whose kindness and commitment continue to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children.💛

In the midst of our fast-paced lives, may we pause to value what truly matters: togetherness, generosity, and the quiet strength found in meaningful acts of kindness.💛
Eid is not merely a celebration but a call to nurture dreams—where every child is empowered to learn, to aspire, and to rise beyond limitations. Let this occasion inspire us to support their journeys, invest in their potential, and create pathways where their hopes can flourish into achievements.🚀
May this auspicious occasion bring you peace, fulfilment, and moments of genuine meaning.
