A one day Technical Visit to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) Katra ​was organised ​on 15/12/23 for the students of 5th Semester Computer Engineering with an aim to explore Data Network Center, Server Room, IoT Lab ,Central Workshop and emerging technologies. The visit was flagged off by the Principal of the institution Er. Vinay Gupta in the presence of Mohd. Shabir Lecturer and faculty of the department. The principal encouraged the students to actively participate during the visit to gain more knowledge and practical experience of the technologies .
It was coordinated by Mr. Ajay Dogra (​Workshop Instructor )​, Er.Deepak Sharma Faculty of Computer Department .​​
Dr.Rajeev kumar, NSS Coordinator welcomed the students and staff and show the virtual tour of SMVDU . Sh. Balbir Singh Dean of SMVDU also explained various options for diploma students in SMVDU including lateral entry scheme for their higher studies. Sh. V.K Bhatia TPO also explain the placement of the university in various Company such as Microsoft ,Amazon ,Google etc.
Er. Deepak Bynotra workshop Superintendent started with a brief profile of central workshop.After that visit to the Department of Computer Science & Engineering Prof.Ajay Koul gave a brief introduction of the department .He appointed Mr.Dinesh Sharma (Maintence coordinator ) to accompany the visiting students to various areas for exposure. Mr Parbjot Singh explained how the network of the university works. He also explained how they manage & provide assistance to more than 6000 users within university. Students cleared their doubts about the network failure issues and other cloud computing.
The visit was very informative, enriching and provided a great learning experience for the students. It gave students an exposure to one of the reputed Universities in India. The students of this institution learned the quality standards and practices, and got a holistic view of the University.
The students expressed their gratitude to the principal for organising such visit .

25th of September, 2023, Government Polytechnic, Reasi in collaboration with District Industries Centre, Reasi organised a Seminar on " Self Employment Schemes under Prime minister's employment generation programme (PMEGP) " for awaring and motivating the youth to pursue enterprenuship. The seminar was started with inauguration speech given by Mrs. Vinay Gupta, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Reasi. She welcomed Mr. Ankur Kalotra, Functional Manager, Mr. Adesh Singh, Industrial Promotional Officer of District Industrial Centre, Reasi and motivated students to be job providers instead of job seekers.
During the seminar, Mr. Adesh Singh gave deep description about the eligibility conditions, scopes, benefits and procedures for availing the loans under PMEGP scheme.
In addition to this, Mr. Ankur Kalotra motivated students to start their own enterprises with positive attitude. He also added starting own business will also help them to generate employment for other people in addition to themselves. In the last , Ms. Sonali Sharma presented a vote of thanks to all the officers from DIC Reasi for making the time to be with them and sharing valuable information.
The seminar was co-ordinated by Sh. Ajay Dogra, I/c Co-curricular activities and Er. Mohd. Shabir under the able guidance of Mrs. Vinay Gupta, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Reasi.
