The International Relations Office (IRO) and Research & Publication Ethics Office at IIM Ranchi recently hosted Prof. Atanu Chaudhuri, PhD, FCILT, Professor - Technology & Operations Management and Co-Director, Durham University Space Research Centre (SPARC), for the International Research Seminar. He explored the fascinating world of satellite operations through his talk, “Crowded Orbits, Fragile Futures: A Phenomenon-Based Study of Satellite Operations around Earth.”

The IRO also welcomed Prof. Deepak Bajaj, Professor, Academic & Campus Director, Deakin University GIFT City Campus, India, for an engaging interaction with students. The session sparked insightful conversations on contemporary challenges, leadership, career opportunities, innovation, and ethical decision-making, with students actively sharing perspectives and raising thoughtful questions.

IIM Ranchi successfully conducted the Strategic School Leadership Program, bringing together school leaders for an immersive three-day journey focused on leading with greater clarity, purpose and impact.

From shaping a compelling vision and building strong organisational cultures to navigating influence, financial stewardship and data-driven decision-making, the programme explored the many dimensions of effective school leadership. Participants also engaged with emerging possibilities of Generative AI in education, while reflecting on emotional intelligence, well-being, adaptability and the human side of leadership.

The learning journey further delved into creative problem-solving, building high-performance teams, succession planning and collaborative governance, culminating in conversations around quality assurance and institutional excellence. With insightful sessions, meaningful interactions and a fireside conversation, the programme encouraged leaders to look beyond managing institutions towards shaping the schools of tomorrow.

IIM Ranchi celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi, highlighted India’s tremendous opportunities and its vision of becoming a developed nation and a multi-trillion-dollar economy by 2047. He emphasised the role of educational institutions in building human capabilities to navigate uncertainty, solve complex challenges and use technology meaningfully for social impact.

The celebrations also featured patriotic songs and cultural performances by students, along with a series of activities promoting patriotism, national unity and social responsibility.

IIM Ranchi was delighted to host Mr. Rajan Sarkar, Director & Unit Head at Anand Rathi Wealth Limited, as part of the Colloquium: Leadership Talk Series on “Wealth Management & Financial Planning for Youth.”

The session offered valuable perspectives on building financial awareness from an early age. Key themes included goal setting and budgeting along with SIPs and long term investing. The discussion also highlighted the power of compounding and the importance of balancing risk and return while building wealth.

The interactive discussion encouraged students to share their perspectives, while practical insights deepened their understanding of wealth management and financial planning, inspiring stronger financial habits for the future.

IIM Ranchi was delighted to host Ms. Surbhi Gupta, Head Digital - Opus Paints (Aditya Birla Group), as part of the Colloquium: Leadership Talk Series. She spoke on the topic of "Why Every Manager Is Becoming a Digital Leader".

​Sharing invaluable perspectives on the evolving corporate landscape, Ms. Gupta highlighted how digital and AI systems now sit at the center of every business function. She emphasized the critical transition from digital literacy to true digital leadership, where managers act as vital translators between human input and technology.
