Continuing its drive against drug smugglers & peddlers, Samba Police has arrested three drug peddlers including a lady in the jurisdiction of Police Stations Vijaypur & Samba and recovered approximately 20.53 grams he**in-like substance (chitta) from their possession.

A Police team of Police Station Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at NHW AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a swift car bearing registration No. JK08E-3280 for its checking which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Vijaypur side. During checking, approximately 16.61 grams of he**in-like substance (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in the said vehicle.

The drug peddlers identified as
01.Sanjeev Kumar S/o Prem Chand R/o Haria Chak district Kathua

02.Malkeet Kour W/o Sharmeet Singh R/o Keri district Jammu have been arrested. The contraband item along with vehicle has also been seized by the police.

A case FIR No. 53/2026 u/s 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.

In another incident, acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Samba intercepted a Breeza Car bearing registration No. JK02BV-6364 at Nud Naka for its checking which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Mansar side. During checking, approximately 3.92 grams He**in like substance was recovered from the possession of the driver of said car.

The drug peddler identified as

03.Umar Ishaq S/o Mohd Ishaq R/o Qila Bhaderwah District Doda has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The car involved in the crime has also been seized by the police.

A case FIR No. 88/2026 u/s 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and investigation started.

Samba Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh and recovered approximately 171.16 grams Charas like substance from his possession.

Acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Ramgarh intercepted a car bearing registration No. JK14E-0843 at Rajpura Jattan Road for its checking which was coming from Swankha side towards Balotra Chak side. During checking, approximately 171.16 grams Charas like substance was recovered from the driver of said car.

The drug peddler identified as

Surinder Singh S/o Ashok Kumar R/o Khour Salarian tehsil Ramgarh District Samba

has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The car involved in the crime has also been seized by the police.

A case FIR No. 23/2026 u/s 8/20/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.

Continuing its crackdown against drug peddlers, J&K Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma IPS recovered approx. 20.36 grams He**ine like narcotics at Dhar Road Dharamkot area of PS Billawar and two drug peddlers were arrested and one vehicle (car) used in the commission of crime was also seized.

Police team of P/S Billawar led by SHO Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh Neeraj Padyar established a special naka on Dhar Road near Dharamkot . During naka one Car bearing Reg. No. JK08Q-4484 coming from Dayalachak towards Billawar was signalled to stop for checking. On seeing the Police team, the driver of the Car tried to fled away from spot. But Alert Police Party did hectic efforts chased the car and apprehended the two persons in suspicious condition While questioning they disclosed their name as

During their personal search 20.36 grams of He**ine (chitta) like substance and 02 mobile phones and cash Rs.5430 have been recovered from their possession and seized the vehicle (Car) from the spot. In this regard a case FIR No. 56/2026 U/S 8/21/22/ 29/NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Billawar while further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages involved in the supply chain of drugs in the area.

Udhampur
Police apprehended two inter-district drug peddlers and recovered he**in from their possession during naka checking at Tikri.

A police team from Police Post Tikri, while performing naka/traffic checking duty at the Tikri naka point, stopped a vehicle bearing registration number JK05L-0005, which was coming from Udhampur towards the Kashmir side, for routine checking.

During the checking, two persons were found travelling in the vehicle. On personal search, 4.81 grams of he**in were recovered from their possession.

The accused have been identified as

01.Hatif Mushtaq S/O Mushtaq Ahmed R/O Sopore, Baramulla

02.Hamam Ahmed Kar S/O Zaffer Ahmed Kar R/O Sopore, Baramulla.

In this regard, FIR No. 70/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal, and further investigation is underway.

A police party of PP Banganga had established a Naka at Keri. During the naka checking, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02DT-6459 was stopped for checking. During the search, 17 grams of he**in was recovered from the possession of

Rakesh Sharma S/O Romesh Chander R/O Sungal Khadwani, Tehsil Akhnoor.

Further sustained checking led to the recovery of 150 strips (1500 tablets) of Pregabalin from the possession of the pillion rider Vikas Kumar S/O Satpal R/O Choghan Mohalla, Tehsil Akhnoor.

In this regard, Case FIR No. 94/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. Further investigation is underway to establish both backward and forward linkages of the arrested individuals and to expose the wider network involved in drug trafficking.

- (IDA), Jammu, at the Shelter Home for Urban Homeless People, Kalika Colony, Bahu Fort, Jammu, in collaboration with NGO Jagriti Mahila Udyog Kendra. The initiative aimed to promote oral hygiene and provide basic dental care to the residents of the shelter home.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of Incharge Ms. Veena Bakshi and Manager Mr. Aditya Dutta, with active support from staff members Ms. Rajni Devi, Ms. Meenakshi Devi, and Mr. Vijay Kumar.

Dental specialists Dr. Umang Jamwal President IDA, and Dr. Kunal Vuthoo, President elect IDA, examined a total of 25 inmates and provided necessary consultation. Free toothpastes and essential medicines were also distributed among the beneficiaries.

The camp received a positive response and highlighted the importance of regular dental check-ups and awareness, especially among underserved sections of society.

a Police team of PS Hiranagar led by Insp. Amit Sangra SHO PS Hiranagar under the close supervision of SP Ops Kathua Sh. Mukund Tibrewal IPS and SDPO Border Sh. Dheeraj Katoch established a routine naka in its jurisdictional area to keep a check on suspicious movement and illegal activities.

During naka checking at link road Gurah. Beldarian, Hiranagar, the police team noticed one person en routed on scooty bearing Reg. No. JK08P-0135 under a suspicious manner. On being stopped and questioned, he disclosed his identity as

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 37/2026 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Hiranagar , and the accused was taken into custody on the spot. The recovered contraband has been seized as per legal procedures, and further investigation is in progress to trace the source and linkages of the narcotic supply.

Continuing its drive against illegal activities, Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a success by apprehending six persons who were found indulging in gambling with playing cards in a public place in the Muthi/Bantalab area.

Acting on specific input, a police team conducted a raid and caught the accused red-handed while gambling. During the operation, stake money amounting to 15,500 along with a deck of 52 playing cards was recovered from the spot and seized as per rules.

All the accused have been booked under the relevant provisions of Section 13 of the Gambling Act, and further investigation has been taken up.

Rural Police Jammu have reiterated commitment to curb gambling and other unlawful activities in the area and have warned strict action against violators.
