The Department of English Bgsbu Rajouri Organizes National Seminar on The Role of Regional Languages in Nation-Building with NEP 2020,February 19, 2025' in collaboration with Bhartiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal stated that NEP 2020 has marked a significant change in India's education system by emphasizing multilingualism and the promotion of regional languages. Prof. Iqbal emphasized that Universities must take the lead in implementing NEP 2020's vision by encouraging research, curriculum development, and academic discourse in regional languages, ensuring their sustained relevance in the globalized world.
Prof. Jawaid said that such academic initiatives will motivate faculty members to come up with vibrant academic activities that contribute to research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Mr. Abhishek Sharma, IAS, Registrar, BGSBU, also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of regional languages in effective administration and governance. He highlighted the need for policies that promote linguistic inclusivity, ensuring that regional languages remain relevant in public discourse, governance, and higher education. He mentioned that Universities can play pivotal role in promoting and preserving the local languages through continuous research and discourse.
Shri Chamu Krishna Shastry, Chairman, Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, in his video message commended BGSBU for hosting this seminar on a subject of national importance.

Indian Constitution Day 2024 celebrated at The Department of English BGSBU RAJORI.In which faculty members and students participated.As this year marks 75 years since the adoption of the Constitution.During the program an oath was administered by the faculty members and students to raise awareness of constitutional ideals, rights, and commitments while emphasizing justice, liberty, equality, and brotherhood, and fostering national solidarity.
Today on Constitution Day, Department of English BGSBU RAJORI marked the 75th anniversary of India's foundational charter with a profound celebration. Also known as Samvidhan Divas, the annual observance on 26 November serves as a reminder of the principles that underpin the nation: justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
Dr- Tanvir Ahmed,delivered the keynote address, and spoke to the Constitution's sustained influence in shaping India's democratic ideals and fostering equity.
