On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Nirman, Pune organized an event on 5 March 2026 at Indapur in Pune district, Maharashtra, bringing together 255 women from Nomadic and Denotified communities. The event combined awareness with expression, beginning with the lighting of the lamp, a tribute to Savitribai Phule, and a collective reading of the Constitution’s Preamble.

It featured a street play on dowry violence by the Balika Panchayat group, a dance performance reflecting lived experiences of a women, an open discussion forum where women and girls shared their challenges, and the highlight of the event was the one-woman theatrical performance “Mi Savitri Boltey” by Prof. Sangharsha Usha Kamble.

The event created a strong platform for amplifying voices, fostering awareness, and reinforcing collective commitment to gender equality and social justice, and concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, guests, and team members from Nirman.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Nirman in collaboration with S. M. Joshi Socialist Foundation organized a women’s gathering titled “𝙐𝙩𝙨𝙖𝙫 𝙎𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙮𝙖 𝙇𝙚𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙖” on 22 March 2026 at Satara, Maharashtra
The program began with a collective reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, reinforcing our shared commitment to equality and justice. Following that voices from the community truly stood out, young leaders from the Balika Panchayat and women’s group members shared their journeys, aspirations, and experiences, reflecting the spirit of grassroots empowerment.
A powerful highlight of the event was a tribute to Savitribai Phule, a pioneer of women’s education in India through a one-woman performance “𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗿𝗶 𝗕𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗲” by Prof. Sangharsha Usha Kamble.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from inspiring changemakers, women and girls across Nirman’s project areas and the entire team who made this celebration meaningful and inspiring.

Under the Driver Dignity Initiative, a Health & Safety Empowerment Camp was successfully conducted on 20 March 2026 at Tata Motors Pantnagar, Uttarakhand in collaboration with Nirman, Pune, Maharashtra, marking another meaningful step towards strengthening the well-being of commercial drivers.
With medical support from Narayan Hospital & Trauma Centre in Pantnagar, 69 drivers received essential healthcare services including blood tests, general check-ups, and medical consultations. Alongside health support, all participating drivers were enrolled in the Post Office Accidental Insurance scheme worth ₹749, ensuring financial protection and security for them and their families.
This initiative reflects the continued efforts to promote health awareness, safety, and financial inclusion, reinforcing dignity and support for drivers who play a crucial role in driving progress.

A two-day health camp was successfully conducted on March 17th and18th 2026, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand under the Driver Dignity Program, led by Nirman, Pune with the collaboration of Tata Motors. Organized with the support of Jeevan Jyoti Pharma, the initiative aimed to promote the health, safety, and dignity of commercial drivers.
Over the two days, 550 drivers benefited from essential health services including blood pressure checks, ECG, eye examinations, and basic medical screenings. Alongside healthcare support, drivers were also enrolled in the India Post Accidental Insurance Scheme with ₹15 lakh coverage, strengthening financial security for them and their families.
This is another continued effort to expand access to healthcare, insurance, and welfare awareness for drivers, ensuring a more secure and dignified future.

On 16th March, 2026, under an initiative of Driver Dignity Program, Nirman, Pune in collaboration with Tata Motors have organized two health camps in Pithampur Madhya Pradesh and Shahapur, Mumbai to promote the health, safety, and social security of commercial drivers.
At Pithampur Madhya Pradesh with the support of Apollo Hospitals and Rohit Eye Hospital, 109 drivers received comprehensive health check-ups and were enrolled in the India Post Accidental Insurance scheme with ₹15 lakh coverage, supported by Aditya Birla Group. Nirman was also felicitated by the Commercial Vehicle Business Unit of Tata Motors for its continued efforts.
On the same day, a parallel camp in Shahapur, Mumbai was going on which supported 55 drivers with health check-ups in collaboration with Narayan Hospital and insurance enrolment.
These initiatives reflect Nirman’s ongoing commitment to strengthening driver dignity through accessible healthcare and financial protection.

On 14 March 2026, Nirman, in collaboration with Tata Motors Dharwad and Goa Plant, organized a Health Camp for drivers at the Tata Motors Plant. The initiative brought together 200 drivers from Goa and Karnataka and focused on improving access to preventive healthcare and social security for drivers from unorganized and vulnerable backgrounds.
As part of the camp, drivers received health check-ups, blood test screenings, and vision examinations conducted with the support of Prime Lab, Bangalore. In addition, each driver was enrolled in the Post Office Accidental Insurance Scheme, ensuring accident coverage worth ₹749 per driver, and many were also supported in registering for relevant government welfare schemes.
This initiative was organized under the Driver Dignity Initiative launched earlier this year, with the aim of promoting the health, safety, and social protection of drivers. Through this collaboration, Nirman and Tata Motors continue to work towards strengthening access to essential services and expanding support to underserved communities.
