It is one of the delicious breakfast dish from north malabar. The moulds with batter looks like ‘kannu’ ( eyes), that's why this name Malabar Kannapam.

Appam is made from a batter using rice,coconut,little sugar to enhance the flavour which is mostly served with Kadla curry, nadan curry in kerala. Nadan curry is made by simmering chicken in spices and coconut milk.

And the dry chicken which is know as Varattiyathu chicken stir fry, it tastes excellent with appam and parotta.
