Clay Alchemy
Clay Alchemy is about celebrating handmade, singular ceramic artifacts.
Clay Alchemy was born out of the need to find myself, to break away the 0s and 1s of the Information Technology world that I walked for almost a decade. Though my sojourn with clay started only as an expression of myself, it has since evolved into a celebration...a celebration of chaos, colours , confusion, caprice, creation....and of course, clay! This medium and the process involved is nothing short of alchemy, a seemingly magical process of transformation and creation.

POTTERY RETREAT
by .alchemy
21st June to 30th June (fireflies season) at
Join us for an immersive pottery retreat designed for beginners and intermediate participants who wish to slow down, work deeply with clay, and experience making in a quiet natural setting.
Over the course of the retreat, participants will explore both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques through guided daily sessions. From centering clay and throwing functional forms to pinching, coiling, slab building, and surface decoration.
Alongside studio practice, participants will also gain an understanding of clay reclaiming, firing processes, and setting up a basic home studio practice.
The retreat takes place at 130 Awata - a peaceful space where clay, landscape, and mindful making come together.
Behind every finished piece are a few that didn’t make it.
We are all healing in some ways, aren’t we?

My student who has been around in the studio for a while now is such a loving human, so curious! Loves experimenting and always willing to try something new in pottery. Its such a good time having our dear Abhaya around in the studio. 🫶
