On a wonderful road trip to New Zealand. This was my 2nd trip. First time was for a cycle trip of 10 days in Jan 2019
An amazing country with great natural beauty.
Drove about 3000km in 12 days.
Everyday a different scenery, different topography, a different feeling of Wow.
A reboot experience for life.

: How do you get people to actually take Ownership?
Leadership & Teamwork Foundation:
Commitment > Responsibility > Accountability > Ownership > Results
In my previous post we saw about Commitment, Responsibility & Accountability…..
Once these three are imbibed one would expect the people/ team to have ownership. Alas this aspect is easier said than done.
Getting people & teams to take ownership is the most difficult yet most rewarding in terms of results.
How do you get people to actually take Ownership?
You can assign responsibility and accountability, but very difficult to assign ownership or rather you can’t assign ownership. People need to take ownership, because you can’t do it by design or force it.
Ownership is something that we choose to take. Leaders focus is on creating that environment. An environment that is an aggregate of commitment, responsibility, accountability and the overall atmosphere that then make the people take ownership for the outcomes, wherein they choose to give their best.
It's about creating an environment of Trust, bonhomie, an emotional connect with and within the teams and the organisation. Its about creating that bond that says “Don’t worry I am there to help”, seeking help & giving help.
This becomes powerful. Results follow…..

It was wonderful to interact with the future leaders of our Country and the world. What a wonderful time and space to be in. India is among the few bright spots in the World. Sure, still lots of catching up to do and these young students would be there to not just witness the transformation of India into a leading developed economy but partake actively in this journey.
