Cloisters nearing completion at Bhimashankar in new Basalt Stone from Rajasthan with columns, beams, roof slabs all in basalt stone. Built to las a 1000 years if not more!

Not only are the cloisters around the temple built in stone but the origins of the river Bhima were restored to witness the monsoon waters gushing with a fury between newly built walls in basalt stone and lime mortar.

We visited Bhimashankar while the rains were pouring at their best with the Assistant Director of Archaeology Dr. Vilas wahane and detected the reasons for seepage bewteen the joint of the Antariksha and the Mandap. The Mandap work will soon be taken up.
