A Resolution for Students –

From today, resolve the following—without excuses and without delay:
I will attend every class regularly and on time.
I will revise the same day what is taught—no backlog.
I will ask doubts immediately instead of pretending to understand.
I will practise daily, even if it is for a short, fixed duration.
I will focus on basics first; speed and marks will follow.
I will stop comparing myself with others and compete only with yesterday’s me.
I will be disciplined with sleep, screen time, and study hours.

Remember:
Weakness is not a permanent label; it is a temporary stage.
Consistency from today can change your results sooner than you think.

A. How to WRITE the Science Paper for Maximum Marks

1. Think Like an Examiner

Answers are evaluated point-wise, not like essays.

Every correct scientific term, law, formula, or diagram label carries marks.

Even partial logic earns step marks—never leave answers blank.

---

2. Follow the “Definition–Reason–Example” Rule

For theory questions:

1 mark → definition / fact

2 marks → definition + reason

3 marks → definition + explanation + example / diagram

Never write long paragraphs.
Use numbered or bulleted points.

---

3. Diagrams Are Scoring Tools (Not Decorations)

Draw only when relevant.

Use sharp pencil, neat lines, proper labels.

Label on the right side, horizontally.

Even a simple diagram can fetch ½ to 1 mark extra.

Mandatory diagrams to practice perfectly:

Human eye

Heart

Brain

Electric circuit

Ray diagrams

Reproductive organs

Refraction through glass slab

---

4. Keywords Decide Marks

CBSE looks for specific words. Train yourself to use them.

Examples:

Use “transfer of electrons”, not “giving electrons”

Use “increase in resistance”, not “problem in flow”

Use “fertilisation”, not “mixing”

👉 Maintain a personal keyword notebook.

---

B. Numericals & Formula-Based Questions

5. Always Use the STEP FORMAT

Even if you know the answer mentally:

1. Given

2. Formula

3. Substitution

4. Calculation

5. Final Answer with Unit

This alone can convert a 0 into 2–3 marks.

---

6. Units = Silent Marks

Write units in every step, not only the final answer.

Wrong unit = loss of ½ to 1 mark.

---

7. Box the Final Answer

Helps examiner spot it instantly.

Improves presentation score subconsciously.

---

C. Case-Based & Assertion–Reason Questions

8. Read Questions Backwards

First read the last line (what is asked).

Then read the paragraph.

This avoids confusion and saves time.

---

9. Eliminate, Don’t Guess

In MCQs:

Strike out clearly wrong options.

CBSE questions often test one word difference.

---

D. Time Management Inside the Exam Hall

10. 15-Minute Reading Time Strategy

Mark:

Easy questions ✔

Formula-based ★

Lengthy theory ○

Start writing with easy + scoring questions first.

---

11. Time Allocation Thumb Rule

1 mark → 1 minute

2 marks → 3 minutes

3 marks → 5 minutes

5 marks → 8–9 minutes

Do not overspend time on one question.

---

E. Practice Pattern to Follow BEFORE Exams

12. Practice With a Clock

Solve full-length papers in exact 3 hours.

Write answers exactly as you will in the exam.

---

13. Practice “Writing”, Not Just Reading

Reading NCERT helps understanding.

Writing answers builds speed, structure, and confidence.

Minimum expectation:

Physics: 25 numericals written

Chemistry: 20 equations + 10 reasoning answers

Biology: 15 diagrams + 20 theory answers

---

14. NCERT Is Non-Negotiable

Definitions, diagrams, tables, and examples are picked directly from NCERT.

Reference books are only for practice—not replacement.

---

F. Last 10 Minutes Before Submission

Check:

Question numbers

Units

Diagrams labelled

No part left unanswered

Attempt every question—even partial logic can fetch marks.

---

Final Examiner’s Truth

> CBSE does not test how much you know.
It tests how correctly and clearly you PRESENT what you know.
