Having good booth monitors is great, but having a good pair of headphones is must!

Don't be 100% dependent on the venue's booth monitoring.
You never know when it can fail, plus acoustics play a huge role.
Get used to monitoring and mixing using your headphones so that you are not caught in a tricky situation while performing.
