Chandan Bhar: This is the first time we worshiped Lord Ganesha at our little home. Our kids preferred to get a soil/clay made idol, used hand painted clay dia and used decoration materials from my younger kid's play-boxes. All are either Eco-friendly or reusable material. We have done immersion ceremony after one-and-a-half day in the immersion tankers provided by Pune Municipal Corporation, which is a very appreciable initiative taken by the administrative authority.

Sonal Kumbhare: I have thought of eco friendly ganpati and this year tried to execute it. Base is made up of news paper and carton. I decorated it with clothes and readymade flowers. Murti is made up of silver and we r using very less flowers for daily pooja.

A Ganpati that doesnt't harm the environment brings the true spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi to life. It could be a moorti made of clay, or even a mandap made from recycled materials.
