As we bid farewell to Ganesha and Mr Mouse, who were so gracious to welcome us in their lives for a whole year we leave you with a parting gift…
This December, Ganesha has been invited by Santa Clause to spend it with him at the North Pole. Ganesha and Mr. Mouse love the toy train very much.
Hear is to hoping we can meet Ganesha and Mr. Mouse soon in near future. .

Ganesha is feeling much better this November. He has already started planning and creating the decorations for Diwali. Ganesha, Kartikeya and Mr. have decided not to spend money on firecrackers. Both Ganesha and Mr. Mouse do not like firecrackers. Instead they plan on decorating Mr Kailash and lighting lots and lots of lamps. .

After a hectic business trip to planet Earth and back Ganesha has fallen sick this October.
Mr. Mouse is furious with Ganesha, as he is down with a cold and flu. Mr. Mouse had warned Ganesha not to take a dip in the river/lake/pond. But Ganesha did not listen to him.
Ganesha’s mom, Gauri is taking care of him today. .

This September, Ganesha has gone on a Business trip to planet Earth along with his Mom Gauri and Mr. Mouse. Hence he is not at home.
You can catch-up with him on Planet Earth. Maybe invite him home for some piping hot Modaks which he will not refuse. .

This July is very especial Ganesha’s best friend Totoro is visiting him all the way from the spirit forest. Ganesha invited Totoro as the monsoon season starts in India. Ganesha and Totoro both love dancing in the rain. Totoro is the keeper of the forest and loves to take a break now and then to visit his friends.
Mr. Mouse does not like the rains as much as Ganesha, so Totoro brought him a gift – a pink raincoat. .

June is the month for counting the pocket money and submitting a detailed balance sheet to Lakshmiji. Ganesha has to account for all the Modaks he has eaten, trips he has taken with Mr. Mouse, all year. Lakshmiji is very particular about tallying the accounts or else she does not issue pocket money for the next financial year.
Mr. Mouse is very serious today and is helping Ganesha crunch his numbers. .

May is a hot hot month on Kailāsh Parvat. Ganesha spends most of his day having a bubble bath. Enjoying the icy cold water from the Himalayas.
Mr. Mouse is just too hot as he is such a tiny being, who gets hot very easily… he just decided to take a plunge inside his ice cold drink. .

One of our favorite projects... This year we got a chance to illustrate letters based on CaL cityaslab and each letter describes one of the characteristics of CaL.

V is for Voice
Of all the important people in the world, of all the men and women, the degree holders, the doctors, engineers and accountants, politicians and activists, educators and parents… CHILDREN are at the bottom of the ladder when it comes to having their voices heard.
What are these children saying? Who is listening to them? Who is asking them what they care about, what matters to them? Where is their voice?
Of the many things we do at CaL, this is one thing we are most proud of.
Every CaL project gives students a public voice. Every research question is an insight into what children care about. We have heard students advocate passionately for girls’ rights, for the environment, for equitable access to quality education, against the taboo of menstruation, banning ‘plaster of Paris’ during Ganpati, and many, many more causes that they spend months researching.
This is exactly what we want. We want citizens who engage with issues that concern them, use data to make arguments and are not afraid to speak up and have their voices heard.
Drawing inspiration from American social activist Maggie Kuhn, we hope that after participating in City as Lab a few times, our students will “Speak the truth, even if (their) voice shakes"
