Yesterday I had went for a training consult for a Labrador,he's a 4 months old puppy. I was so happy to see a crate they had for the pupper.
It makes me happy seeing that people out there are opening up to crate training, they are aware about the benefits of crate and how it can be an amazing tool for house training as well.

But having the right knowledge before hand is important to make life peaceful for both - you and the pet!

I am writing this post to create awareness amongst pet parents about teaching the pets right and not give them a chance to make mistakes and create a (bad) habit of it
The most common problem which a new dog owner faces is the p*e poo habits of a dog.
Ideally a dog will never p*e or p**p at places they eats or rests. It's a natural instinct for them to go away and relieve themselves.
The more chance you provide them to p*e and p**p here and there,the more they'll do it.
Here's what you need to do-
1. Restrict the dogs movement in the house to a limited space. Preferably feed them there.
2. They p*e and p**p usually after waking up/after play time/after eating food.
3. Note down their own unique pattern and schedule the dogs walk according to it.
4. Have a designated place in the house(as well)where the pup can p*e and p**p.
5. The moment activities mentioned in point 2 are done,take the dog to that designated place/down for a walk.
6. Reward the dog when they relieve themselves in that designated place in the house or during the walks(remember,food or treats is not the only reward)
Do try it with your new dog and let me know how well it goes.
Things to remember- it takes months to create a habit in dogs. Expect some accidents here and there,that's fine. It's a puppy and will make mistakes. Being a responsible dog owner,it's our duty to provide least chances for a dog to make mistake.
Practice daily,consistency is the key!

Getting your first pet is amazing. But know what you are getting into before it comes as a shock...

We had a training consult for Patchy at
I normally go for consults at the clients place,but thought of doing it differently this time.
The ones who've been following me from atleast a year,know that KC is my favourite chilling spot(and i had not been there for quite some time).
I had some work closeby,and Patchy's foster too had some work at NIBM,so I asked her to come to KC instead
The consult went very well,Patchy behaved well there. She even made friends,everybody was talking about Patchy and her eyes.. overall a great experience for her considering socialization.
It's legit fun to work at places you love.
I'm thinking of doing it more often 🤩
