Buffalo Extraction Systems
Delivering turnkey extraction, agro-processing, and consulting solutions for the global bio-products industries.
Scaling CO₂ extraction is not a matter of increasing vessel size. The engineering changes at every level.
At lab scale, systems allow short batch cycles, minimal pressure drop and straightforward temperature uniformity. At production scale, systems introduce significantly different flow dynamics, vessel geometry that directly influences extraction kinetics, and CO₂ recycling efficiency that becomes a major cost variable.
Operators who approach scale-up without accounting for these differences often find themselves correcting problems after commissioning, rather than running consistent production from the start.
Buffalo Extraction Systems engineers each scale level with these distinctions built in:
Level 1 10L/15L: Pilot, R&D and product development
Level 2 50L/75L: Mid-scale and commercial entry
Level 3 200L/300L: Full production and continuous operation
The engineering is specific to each level. The extract quality is consistent across all three.

Sea buckthorn berries are extraordinary. They're one of the only plants in the world that naturally contain all four omega fatty acids, Omega 3, 6, 7, and 9, plus bioactive compounds including vitamins, carotenoids, antioxidants, and rare flavonoids.
But most extraction methods don't do justice to the plant.
Traditional solvent-based extraction uses chemicals and high heat that strip away or destroy many of the delicate compounds that make sea buckthorn so special.
Supercritical CO₂ extraction is different. CO₂ is pressurised until it behaves like a supercritical fluid that has properties both of a liquid and a gas, gently dissolving and pulling out bioactives at low temperatures, with zero chemical residue. The result is pure, potent, solvent-free seabuckthorn extracts.
Industry leaders are turning to CO₂ extraction for its ability to preserve delicate compounds while delivering cleaner extracts.
Experience your product before you invest. We offer extraction trials in-house to help you evaluate:
- Oil yield & purity
- Extraction efficiency
- Process feasibility
- Product quality outcomes

As processing lines grow more complex, visibility becomes essential. Manual oversight alone cannot ensure repeatable, safe and optimised operations.
With single-point HMI and SCADA monitoring, operators gain centralised control across the system. Real-time data, parameter tracking and integrated safety logic enhance consistency while simplifying supervision and compliance documentation.

Energy availability and cost vary across regions and facilities. Rigid fuel dependency can limit operational continuity and financial planning.
Our systems are designed to operate across gas, electricity and high-speed diesel, giving operators the flexibility to adapt to local infrastructure and cost dynamics. This multi-fuel capability strengthens resilience and long-term operational planning.

Material loss during transfer and handling directly impacts yield and profitability. In high-throughput environments, even small inefficiencies compound over time.
By integrating biomass recovery systems and trough conveyors into the workflow, our lines are designed to minimise material wastage during movement and processing. The result is stronger yield retention, cleaner handling and better control across the entire pre-processing stage.
