"Everything happens for a reason" is what I heard when I was deeply hurt. I was not in that mental condition to listen this and was not even able to think about the positive reasons behind my situation ! What do I do ? Why am I always adviced to cheer up and be happy when I'm hurt or sad !? Moreover, it isn't that easy !
Saying "stay positive" isn't going to help me heal is what I'm saying ! We need to understand this : "Every person takes their own time to heal." Instead of forcing positivity on someone, respect their feelings, support them, help them heal, help them grow🌻
And most important - LISTEN TO THEM. Sometimes a person just needs someone who listens to their problems and how they feel. Listening to them when they need you is the least you can do, isn't it ? ❤️
Toxic positivity, demands positivity from people regardless of the challenges that they face, potentially silencing their emotions and deterring them from seeking social support.
