During the summer months, the heat increases the pressure in tyres. This can result in higher than normal temperatures which lead to permanent damage. The drastic variation in temperature between day and night can also damage the tyres. To avoid damage, get the tyre pressure checked and make sure they’re inflated to the recommended level. Not only will this keep you safe, it will also increase your vehicle’s fuel efficiency.

Chennai to Pondy Heritage Car Rally 2014.

Date : Sat 01 Feb 14..Time : 4.00 pm - 7.00 pm.. Venue : Beach Road, Pondicherry.

Around 52 cars are expected to take part in the rally. They include Packard Clipper, Ford Prefect, Ford Anglia, MGB, MG-TD, Morris Z Van, Morris 1000, Jaguar SS, Austin Cambridge, Austin Chummy, Dodge Kingsway, Mercedes SL6 and Riley.

The vehicles will congregate at Elliots Beach on the morning of February 1 and then roll towards East Coast Road. They would stop at MARG Swarnabhoomi and resume the journey towards Puducherry.

The vehicles will regroup near the Pondy University and then head to GRT. A few cars will be parked at GRT and the rest at Pondy Port. Then, the cars will go to the beach front where they will be on display between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Later at Seagul, there will be a rock concert. The next day, the cars will turn back and head towards Mahabalipuram.

Hero RNT Diesel Hybrid Scooter.

The new scooter, in addition to being the first ever hybrid diesel scooter in the country, also features technology which is unheard of in the mainstream segment. The Hero RNT diesel hybrid scooter, apart from featuring diesel hybrid tech, also introduces turbocharging to the segment with its liquid cooled 4-stroke direct injection turbcharged diesel engine

The 150cc Hero RNT boasts peak power of an impressive 13.5bhp @4000 rpm, and a mind boggling 35Nm of peak torque at an ultra low 1600 rpm.

Doing suspension duties up front on the Hero RNT are 37mm telescopic forks and at the rear you have a swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. Front wheels are 2.75 x17 cast aluminium units with 120/70 – R17 rubber, while at the rear you have 4.00×17 cast aluminium wheels with 150/60 – R17 rubber.

The new bike weighs 136kg, has a fuel tank capacity of 6 liters for mains and manages to do a 0-60km/g sprint in 5 seconds. Top speed, however is limited to a rather slow 70 kmph.

Disc brakes do the stopping duties, with a 300mm rotor and multi piston caliper up front and a 220mm rotor with single piston caliper at the rear.

Hybrid power is provided by a 16 cell li-ion, 500CCA, 12 amp, dry cell technology batter, which can be mounted in any direction. The alternator features 1500W of continuous electric power , developing 6.5 Amp of current at 230 Volts

BMW launches the 1 Series with two engines 116i and 118d, one being a petrol and other diesel respectively. These engines come mated to an eight speed transmission. All the models will get ECO PRO or better fuel efficiency. It gets the start stop engine button, run flat tyres, 50:50 weight distribution.
The interiors are luxurious and it gets BMW's iDrive and park assist, high quality music system. It has long wheel base and a sporty design. It will be available in four variants: base(diesel and petrol), Sport ad Sport+.
