MLA Pattan Visits Dewar, Yakhmanpora, Tantraypora, Hanjiwera and Nooripora; Reviews Arrangements for Muharram Processions.

Pattan, June 14: MLA Pattan, Javaid Riyaz Bedar, today undertook an extensive tour of Dewar, Yakhmanpora, Tantraypora, Hanjiwera and Nooripora to review the arrangements and preparedness for the forthcoming Muharram processions.

During the visit, the MLA interacted with local residents, community representatives and officials, taking stock of essential facilities including drinking water supply, sanitation, electricity, road connectivity and other civic amenities required for the smooth conduct of the religious observances.

He directed the concerned departments to ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place well in advance so that devotees can participate in the Muharram processions without inconvenience. Reaffirming his commitment to public welfare, the MLA assured the people that all genuine issues raised during the visit would be addressed on priority.

MLA Pattan, Javaid Riyaz Bedar, today visited the Community Health Centre (CHC) Pattan and took stock of the healthcare facilities and ongoing developmental projects within the institution.

During the visit, he inspected various departments, reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure works, and interacted with doctors, paramedical staff, and patients. He stressed the importance of timely completion of projects and ensuring quality healthcare services for the public.

Javed Ahmad Dar Takes Stock of Muharram Preparations in Baramulla

Directs Departments to Ensure Seamless Essential Services, Traffic Management and Public Facilities

BARAMULLA, JUNE 09: Minister for Agriculture Production Department and Rural Development, Javed Ahmad Dar today chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Baramulla to assess and finalise arrangements for the forthcoming Muharram observances across the district.

The meeting was attended by MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Beigh, MLA Pattan Javaid Riyaz Bedar, MLA Sopore Irshad Rasool Kar, MLA Wagoora-Kreeri Irfan Hafeez Lone, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla S.F. Hamid,Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, SDMs of Uri and Pattan, district officers of various departments, besides representatives of the Shia community from Baramulla, Sopore, Pattan and Uri.

During the meeting, representatives of the Shia community projected various issues and requirements pertaining to Muharram arrangements. Detailed deliberations were held on ensuring smooth conduct of religious gatherings and processions across the district.

The Minister directed the concerned departments to undertake timely repair and maintenance of roads leading to Imambaras and major procession routes. He also instructed officials to ensure adequate availability of firewood and provision of additional rice for Niyaz during the holy days.

Emphasising the importance of uninterrupted essential services, Javed Ahmad Dar directed the installation of DG sets at major Imambaras to ensure reliable power supply, augmentation of street lighting, uninterrupted drinking water supply and adequate medical facilities at congregation and procession sites.

The Minister further stressed the need for proper sanitation in and around Imambaras, congregation venues and procession routes. He directed the concerned departments to intensify cleanliness drives and ensure prompt waste disposal during the observances.

Reviewing traffic arrangements, the Minister instructed the Traffic Police and Civil Administration to formulate a comprehensive traffic management plan to facilitate smooth movement of vehicles and devotees during Muharram processions. He emphasised the need for adequate deployment of personnel, installation of signages and timely public advisories to minimise inconvenience to the public.

Calling for coordinated efforts among all departments, the Minister directed officers to complete all necessary arrangements well in advance and ensure prompt redressal of issues raised by the community representatives.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla assured the meeting that all departments are working in close coordination and that necessary measures are being taken to ensure the peaceful and smooth observance of Muharram across the district.

Today attended an Environment Awareness Programme at Higher Secondary School Nehalpora, Pattan, where I emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and encouraged students to play an active role in protecting nature for future generations."
