๐ Why Short Stories Matter in a Childโs Development
Short stories are much more than simple entertainment. They play an important role in shaping a childโs mind, emotions, language, and imagination.
When children listen to or read short stories, they learn new words, improve their concentration, and understand how sentences are formed. Stories also help them recognise emotions, understand right and wrong, and develop empathy for others.
A well-written story encourages children to think, ask questions, predict what may happen next, and express their own ideas. It also strengthens memory and builds confidence in reading and speaking.
For young children, short stories are especially effective because they are easy to understand, enjoyable, and hold attention without making learning feel difficult.
Even one short story a day can help a child grow into a thoughtful, creative, confident, and compassionate learner. ๐โจ

๐๐ Dear Parents, This Summer Vacations Give Your Child Memoriesโฆ Not Just Screen Time. ๐๐
Children may forget many toys and videos, but they always remember the habit of reading given by parents. ๐
A book builds imagination, values, focus, creativity, and strong thinking โ while excessive mobile and TV time slowly steals childhood moments.
โจ This summer, let your child hold more books than screens.
Because the best gift a parent can give is a love for reading. ๐๐ฑ

โ ๏ธ Increasing Anger & Stress in Children (Age 3โ9): A Growing Concern
In recent years, a noticeable rise in anger, irritability, and stress among young children (3โ9 years) has become a serious concern for parents and educators alike.
At this age, children are in their most sensitive developmental phase. Yet today, many are showing:
โข Frequent tantrums and aggression
โข Low patience and frustration tolerance
โข Difficulty expressing emotions
โข Withdrawal or excessive crying
๐ Whatโs causing this shift?
๐น Excessive Screen Exposure
Early and prolonged use of mobile devices affects emotional regulation, sleep, and attention span.
๐น Reduced Outdoor Play
Less physical activity means fewer opportunities to release energy and develop social skills.
๐น Academic & Performance Pressure
Even young children are facing expectations that may not match their emotional readiness.
๐น Family Stress & Lifestyle Changes
Children absorb stress from their surroundingsโbusy schedules, lack of family time, or conflicts at home.
๐น Limited Emotional Expression
Children are often not taught how to identify and express their feelings appropriately.
๐ Why should we be concerned?
Unchecked anger and stress at an early age can lead to:
โข Behavioral problems
โข Poor academic performance
โข Social difficulties
โข Long-term emotional challenges
๐ What can we do?
โ๏ธ Encourage open communicationโlisten without judgment
โ๏ธ Limit screen time and promote mindful usage
โ๏ธ Ensure daily outdoor play and physical activity
โ๏ธ Create a calm, supportive home and school environment
โ๏ธ Teach children simple ways to express emotions (talking, drawing, storytelling)
โ๏ธ Focus on emotional well-being as much as academic growth
๐ฑ Remember:
A childโs behavior is often a reflection of what they are experiencing, not just what they are doing.
Letโs work together to nurture emotionally strong, happy, and balanced children.

๐ง As a Counsellor, I Often Ask Parents One Simple Questionโฆ
๐ โIs your child prepared for life, or just for exams?โ
Because academic success may open doors,
but life skills help children walk through them with confidence. ๐ฑ
From what I see every day, children truly grow when we nurture:
๐ฃ๏ธ Communication Skills โ the ability to express thoughts clearly
๐ค Social Skills โ understanding, empathy, and teamwork
๐ก Problem-Solving โ thinking independently and making decisions
โค๏ธ Emotional Strength โ handling failure, pressure, and setbacks
๐ Responsibility โ managing time and building self-discipline
๐ญ The reality isโฆ
Many children donโt struggle because they lack intelligence,
but because they were never taught how to deal with real-life situations.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Dear Parents,
Start early. Be involved. Listen without judgment.
๐ Letโs raise children who are not just academically strong, but life-ready.
