Humanity Exemplified: Beyond Sacrifice 🇮🇳

In an extraordinary act of courage and compassion, the family of a brain-dead mother of two serving soldiers transformed their deepest grief into the gift of life through organ donation at Command Hospital, , .

Smt Maya Devi, mother of Nb Sub Tilak Raj (Dogra Regiment) and Hav Jagdev Singh (Punjab Regiment), suffered a catastrophic brain stroke. Despite the best medical care, she could not be revived. Displaying exceptional courage, her sons consented to donate her kidneys, liver and corneas, giving a new lease of life to multiple recipients.

In coordination with retrieval teams from Army Hospital (R&R) and AIIMS, New Delhi, the Western Healers successfully completed the organ retrieval.
The Indian Army salutes Nb Sub Tilak Raj, Hav Jagdev Singh and their family. Their selfless act embodies the timeless values of Seva, Tyag, Kartavya and humanity, inspiring many to embrace the life-saving gift of organ donation.

Kargil Vijay Diwas 2026 🇮🇳

Lt Gen , AVSM, GOC, , paid solemn tribute to the bravehearts of the Kargil War at Vijay Smarak. Wreath-laying ceremonies were also conducted across all Kharga Corps stations to honour the indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice of our heroes.

Serving personnel, veterans, Kargil War heroes, NCC cadets, and school children joined in paying homage, reaffirming the Nation’s enduring gratitude and its commitment to never forget their sacrifice.

In a heart-wrenching yet profoundly inspiring act of selfless service, Nb Risaldar Virender Singh, declared brain dead after suffering a brain stroke while performing duty in the high-altitude region of Ladakh, left behind a lasting legacy through the noble act of organ donation.

We honour Smt Kusum's extraordinary courage and compassion. In the face of immense grief, her decision to donate her husband's organs will give a renewed lease of life to six people.

The of Command Hospital successfully undertook a complex multi-organ retrieval. For the first time in the history of CH (WC), lungs were also retrieved from a deceased donor, marking a significant medical milestone.

The Indian Army salutes the supreme sacrifice of Nb Risaldar Virender Singh and the indomitable spirit of Smt Kusum. Their selfless act will forever stand as a shining example of courage, humanity, resilience and compassion.
