The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed the schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The tournament will kick off on March 22, 2025, at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, where the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in an exciting opening match.

Key Matches to Watch

- March 23, 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad.

- March 23, 2025: A high-stakes clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in Chennai.

Playoffs and Final

- Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be held in Hyderabad on May 20 and 21, respectively.

- Qualifier 2 and the Final will take place at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on May 23 and 25.

Tournament Format

- 10 teams will play 14 matches each in the league stage, totaling 70 matches.

- The season includes 74 matches across 13 venues, spanning 65 days.

- Fans will enjoy two matches between CSK and MI during the league stage.

The much-anticipated 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) season is set to kick off on Friday, February 14th. This will be the third edition of the franchise-based T20 tournament, featuring five teams competing for the prestigious title. In a groundbreaking move for the tournament, matches will take place at four different venues, adding a new level of excitement to the competition.

Defending Champions

The reigning champions, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), will aim to defend their title. Under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana, RCB made history last year by winning their first WPL championship with a convincing eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in the final.

Tournament Format

The 2025 season will include 20 group-stage matches, with each team playing against every other team twice. The team that finishes at the top of the points table will earn a direct spot in the final, while the second and third-placed teams will face off in an eliminator to decide the second finalist.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy is making a grand return after an eight-year hiatus, promising thrilling cricket action from February 19 to March 9, 2025. This elite one-day international (ODI) tournament, last won by Pakistan, will see the world's top eight men's teams compete in a 19-day spectacle. Notably, this is Pakistan's first time hosting an ICC event since the 1996 World Cup.

Participating Teams and Groups

The tournament features two groups:

- Group A: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, New Zealand

- Group B: Afghanistan, Australia, England, South Africa

Tournament Format

The Champions Trophy will follow a round-robin format in the group stage. Each team will play against every other team in their group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. Points will be awarded as follows:

- Win: 2 points

- No result/Tie: 1 point

- Loss: 0 points

In case of tied points, the net run rate will determine the semifinalists.
