सूर्य के धनु राशि में प्रवेश करने के साथ ही धनु खर मास का आरंभ हुआ।एक माह तक यह संक्रमण प्रभावी रहेगा।अतः समस्त शुभ कार्य इस माह में वर्जित है।ऐसे उदाहरण विवाह, मुंडन, गृहप्रवेश, नवीन कार्य, व्यापार आदि वर्जित।किंतु जो काम पहले आरंभ हो चुके हैं उन पर यह लागू नहीं होगा।

क्यों वर्जित है शुभ कार्य धनु खर मास में?

विजय की दशमी तिथि , राम की रावण पर विजय , अर्थात बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत,! क्या वास्तव में हम यह उत्सव मनाने के अधिकारी हैं? कलयुग में सतयुग के रावण को जलाने का औचित्य ही नहीं है।कारण ? रावण ने सीता का अपहरण किया इस कारण हम उस जैसे विद्वान को जलाते है? मुझे यह लिखते हुए अत्यन्त दुख हो रहा है कि हमारे समाज में ऐसे न जाने कितने रावण है जिन्हें जलाना तो दूर हम उन्हें पहचानने की भी जरूरत नहीं समझते ,!? अपहरण करने के बावजूद रावण ने सीता को छुआ तक नहीं तो भी हम उसे बुरा कह कर जलाते रहे हैं ।आज हमारे समाज में जो हो रहा है उसका क्या? आज आआवश्यकता है अपने पुराने समीकरणों को बदलने की। प्राचीन मान्यताओं के नए अर्थ खोजने की और भावी पीढी को जागरूक करने की।हमें अपनी सांस्कृतिक धरोहरों को अवश्य बचाना चाहिए एवं पर्वो को उत्साह से मनाया जाना चाहिए किंतु आज के परिवेश की आवश्यकता को ध्यान में रखते हुए एवं अपने बच्चों को उनका सही अर्थ समझा कर ना की वही पुरानी डफली व राग अलापते रहे।देश , काल, परिस्थिति के अनुरूप ही प्राचीन मान्यताओं को नवीन कलेवर में भावी पीढी को समझाने की आवश्यकता ह। यह हम सभी का उत्तर दायित्व है तभी हम समाज में जागरूकता लाने में अपना आंशिक योगदान दे सकते हैं।

After biding farewell to our respected Pitras (forefathers) on pitrivisarjan amavasya, we r ready to welcome new energy in the form of worshipping Devi Maa.In Pitrpaksh which falls in krishnapakasha , we take blessings of our departed souls and dedicate our positive energies to them.so we r left with low energy. To recharge it for the whole coming year we worship shakti swaroopa devi maa in shuklapaksha. We celebrate Navratras by worshipping 9 roopas of maa Durga for in consecutive9 days.After that we celebrate Vijaydashmi.

Aashvin Navratras are most important among all the 4. Lord Vishnu is in His
Yoganidra therefore we can get rid of our miseries and sorrows by worshipping shakti swaroopa devi maa Durga, who defeated demons and is omnipresent. Everyone has this hidden power of righteousness ,in him or herself.we just have to give it a spark. तमस का अंत शक्ति का उदयन

Today is poornima , starting of Pitrpaksha ie 15 days till Amavasya 12th of October, when we will remember our departed loved ones and offer our humble offerings by feeding cows, dogs, crows and other animals as well as inviting punditjis to perform shradha pooja so that the departed souls may rest in peace and shower their blessings in form of health, wealth and prosperity on their family members.In these 15 days we should observe purity and honesty in our mind , speech and behaviour.we should not start any new work or shift in new house or marriage etc.since in chturmas ie 4 months till October God Vishnu is also in His Yognidra so we can't get his blessings as per our shastras. This time is good for pooja, dharma and daan karmas.

Shravanmonth is one of the holiest Hindu months, is the 5th month of Hindu calender dedicated to Lord Shiva .This year the auspicious period starts from (Saturday) August 01, 2015-29 Aug.
During the course of the month the star " Shravan" rules the sky, hence the month is called Shravan somvar , is a special day to offer jal on shivling. All somvar of the month are specifically observed with austerity.
Shravan mahina is also the first month of chaturmas four holiest months in Hindu Hindi calendar

The most important festival of this month is Shri Krishna Janmastmi.

दुर्लभ संयोग - Jupiter and Venus conjunction in Cancer
