Here's a little more about our tradition in the Catholic community:
The 15th of August not only marks the day of our Country's Independence but gives us another reason to celebrate as the date coincides with Feast of The Assumption of Our Lady, celebrations of which are in complete without a sweet delicacy called ‘𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐨’.
This fragrant dish is made from a moist, succulent mixture of coconut and jaggery neatly stuffed into a rice pancake, which is wrapped and steam-cooked in fresh turmeric leaves.

The scent of the turmeric leaves, along with the aroma of the coconut and jaggery is surely an indication that the day is here.

𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑭𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 🙂

A nice big bite of a simple Potato Chop and...voila! You are transported back in time 🥰... And most probably to those post Sunday Mass breakfast meals! ... Am I right?
To us Potato Chops were very much a Sunday feel 🥰

A rich preparation, definitely one that can shine through on any occasion.

A very subtle infusion of spices but ever so flavourful!!!
The White Chicken Biryani isn't one for those with an intense spice palette but it sure does bring out a Great juicy, creamy flavor... Making it a truly satisfying experience.

And of course! No Biryani is ever complete without Raita 😏
