Hi, I am Vishal Amarnani. I am not a chef by degree or from any hotel management school, but just love to cook and do it with full passion.
Owner - Sumptuous! - Culinary Redefined Professionally I am Merchant Banker and MBA. Since the skills are in my veins from maternal ancestors who are specialized in Tandoor and Indian Curries. I decided to put my hands on International Cuisines. Now, of course, there are thousands of chefs out there that are amazing cooks and are passionate about cooking and serving great dishes. But just because someone is a chef doesn’t mean they can cook better than your microwave. It is your passion, love and enthusiasm is what makes that dish sinful. My practice has always been to redefine the usual cuisine or a dish into something extra ordinary dish with new flavors and spices involved. I often get referred to as a chef and it always sort of reminds me and feels good when I am compared to those veterans around the world. To me, a chef is a very specific career and description and what I try do is chemistry & biology and try to create a new gastronomy out of it and fix in my menu after sampling. To name few of inspirations : Chef Silvia, chef Lorraine Pascale, Nigella Lawson, Chef Rachael Ray, Chef Vineet Bhatia, Chef Vikas khanna, chef David Rocco. My Mother has always been my biggest inspiration and she will always be better than me, no matter if I have 5 out 5 stars on any dish. For me food is just now only cooking, it has to follow with a technique of it. Trust me I don’t follow any rules of gastronomy but keep simple thing in mind... “It has to be freaking lip-smacking”. Sumptuous – Culinary Defined is a new venture of mine created in 2012. The concentration of the business is to serve 3 star and 5 star cuisines through medium of catering. Currently we serve with a minimum of 15 to 20 people and maximum of 75. We undertake both on site and off site cooking.
