THE NEED
While HT is a heinous, detestable crime it is also a multi-billion dollar business, When you look at HT from the standpoint of a business, it’s all about demand and supply. In HT, the source areas are where the supply is and the destinations are where the demand is. The source/supply areas are mostly the backward, vulnerable pockets of our country. The destinations/demand areas are most o

🎓 72.2% and a Future Full of Possibilities
Anjali’s Journey from Learning the Hindi Alphabet to Passing Class 10
We are proud to celebrate Anjali Das, who has successfully passed her Class 10 (NIOS) examinations with an impressive 72.2%.
But this achievement is about far more than marks.
When Anjali first joined Purnata, one of her greatest challenges was language. She began her studies in Hindi medium despite not knowing even the basic Hindi alphabet. What seemed impossible at the time slowly became achievable through determination, hard work, and the support of people who believed in her.
Through the patient dedication of Anita and Prabha, who taught her Hindi from the very beginning, Anjali gradually learned to read, write, and gain confidence in her studies. Their commitment laid the foundation for this remarkable achievement.
Many others played an important role in her journey. Anagha’s guidance and accountability, Joanne’s continual encouragement and practical support, and the care, investment, and prayers of team members, supporters, and well-wishers helped Anjali stay focused on her goals and persevere through challenges.
Today, Anjali’s success is a reminder that when vulnerable young people are given the opportunity, support, and encouragement they need, they can overcome barriers and build brighter futures.
Passing Class 10 is not just an academic milestone—it is a gateway to further education, vocational opportunities, greater independence, and a future filled with possibilities.
We are incredibly proud of Anjali and grateful to everyone who has been part of her journey.
✨ What seemed impossible one letter at a time became possible one step at a time.

Have We Become Numb to Child Labour?
Every child deserves a childhood, and opportunities—not long hours of work.
Yet, child labour continues to rob countless children of their education, safety, and future. Behind every child at work is a story of vulnerability, poverty, and missed opportunities.
At Purnata, we believe that every child belongs in a classroom, not a workplace. By supporting education, protection, and rehabilitation, we can help children reclaim their right to dream, learn, and thrive.
💙 Childhood is precious. Let’s protect it.

⚠️ Human trafficking does not always begin with violence or force.
Sometimes, it begins with attention, affection, and the promise of love.
Every human being longs to feel loved, seen, cared for, and accepted. Traffickers exploit these emotional needs through what is known as the “Loverboy” tactic.
In this method, traffickers pretend to be loving partners or trusted friends. They offer attention, gifts, emotional support, and promises of a better future — slowly building trust and emotional dependency.
Once the victim becomes emotionally attached, manipulation and control begin.
Victims may be:
• Isolated from family and friends
• Emotionally blackmailed
• Threatened or controlled
• Forced into exploitation
Women, girls, and vulnerable children are often specifically targeted. Social media has also become a powerful tool for grooming and fake relationships.
🚨 Real love never controls, exploits, threatens, or isolates.
Awareness is one of the strongest ways to prevent trafficking. Young people must be educated about healthy relationships, emotional manipulation, and online safety. Families and communities must create safe spaces where people feel heard, supported, and protected.
Together, we can help prevent trafficking and protect vulnerable lives. 🤝

Celebrating the love, strength, and sacrifice of mothers ❤️
On 11th May, Purnata celebrated Mother’s Day at our centre with great joy and warmth. We were honored to welcome Biju Nambiar along with her two friends as our chief guests.
Biju Nambiar is a Family Counselor, Social Worker, and passionate Life Skill Trainer with qualifications including an MBA, MSc in Psychology, and M.Ed. She has dedicated her work towards the well-being of women, children, and youth through counseling, awareness programs, and life skill training.
The program began with welcoming the guests and presenting bouquets to them. Our children then performed a beautiful dance that brought smiles to everyone present.
Biju later conducted an informative PPT session, creating awareness about abortion, and all the ladies listened with great attention and interest.
A total of 35 ladies attended the event. The celebration ended with snacks and refreshments for everyone. Biju also gifted sarees to the ladies, bringing immense joy to them.
We thank Biju Nambiar and her friends for spending this meaningful day with us and making the celebration truly memorable.

A Stitch Towards Dignity: Minakshi’s New Beginning
Minakshi, who was previously living in the Mumbai red-light area, returned to her hometown a few months ago to care for her specially-abled daughter. With her husband physically unwell and the family struggling to survive on limited agricultural income, life became extremely difficult.
In the middle of these challenges, Minakshi reached out to our Mumbai team with a simple but powerful desire — to use her stitching skills to build a better future for her family.
Our Bengal team has been consistently counselling and encouraging the family during this transition. Through the support of a well-wisher associated with Purnata, we were able to provide Minakshi with a sewing machine.
Today, we are grateful to share that she has already received more than 10 stitching orders and is actively working to complete them.
A small opportunity can become the beginning of restored dignity, hope, and independence. 💛

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing forms of organized crime in the world.
In India alone, an estimated 11 million people were living in modern slavery as of 2021 — the highest number globally.
This is not just a statistic.
These are lives silenced, freedom stolen, and dignity denied.
Awareness is the first step.
Action is the next.
