KHADI SAMRAJYA : Khadi has always been associated with the old thick fabric, we wanted to change this mindset . We wanted to promote Khadi for power dressing. If styled well ,khadi (be it cotton or silk) could work for any occasion. The color and texture of khadi are so inspiring . It is a fabric which breathes.

Tangaliya is practised by a handful of weavers in some illages of Gujarat. It is a very special technique where blobs of yarns are inserted by hand while weaving on loom.A very interesting aspect of Tangaliya is that the weaving technique cannot be replicated by man made machines. Human touch is key and here the process includes wrapping of cotton or woolen yarn around the warp while weaving. This forms a bead (daana) in the weave, thus giving it the name ‘daana weaving’.
Innovation in motifs was a very interesting challenge that I tackled. The Tangaliya weavers have been using the same traditional motifs for centuries and all these motifs have to be geometrical due to the constraints of the weave.Motifs are generally mor(peacock), ambo(mango) and so on.
My Inspiration comes from the famous seal depicting PASHUPATI from Indus valley civilisation and it's script, becoming a tribute to the ancient history of the Indian subcontinent.
