"Faith it, till you make it"

Interviewed Dr. Mrudula Dadhe - Singer, Film Music Expert and Author. An in-depth conversation about Hindi Film Music.

Even before I put up any promotional graphics or made any announcement of my interview the word had already spread and congratulatory messages started pouring in for me from everywhere. That's the magnitude of her personality.
When exceptional music, words and intelligence all come together it's a soul soothing experience. And that is what meeting and interviewing was.
Just a small wish finally turned into an enriching professional experience. Can't thank my stars enough.

अगर किसी चीज़ को दिल से चाहो, तो पूरी कायनात उसे तुमसे मिलाने की कोशिश में लग जाती है!!!
Once was a dream, now living it since 12+ years and from exactly 10 years experiencing all that which 'I' from the bottom of my heart wished for.
15th February 2016 I began my journey on FM Rainbow and today I have completed 10 years. Seriously???
Obliged for all the surreal opportunities and challenging twists and turns. It has only enriched me as a person and professional.
Upwards and onwards.
Grateful and beyond.

An opportunity of immense pride and gratitude!!!
Interviewed Squadron Leader Aruvi Jaydev Live on Radio, on account of the ongoing All Women Tri Services SamudraPradakshina expedition.
The purpose of the one of its kind expedition is to spread the message of National Unity and Women Empowerment.
The officer was a perfect example of it. A woman working in an off-beat field, dignified, strong yet oozing with umpteen warmth.
One of my firsts for the New 2026.
Thank you Bappa! 🙏🧚‍♀️

A time when I was juggling between being a student, a voice professional, managing my health and then again knocked the opportunity to teach a bunch of college students.
Visiting Nirmal College, to give insights about the radio industry. Its always exciting to visit school and college, no matter what role I get to play. This time it was being Teacher ji.
Oh! The time in the staff room before commencing the lecture, dealing with teenager students and then stepping out realising of the learning curves for self it was truly enriching.

Finally after 12 years I clicked a pic in the very first studio, channel at Aakashwani - Asmita Vaahini. The first picture is from the first studio I went On Air at Aakashwani.
Followed by a few from my current and favourite FM Rainbow channel.
Just a few days back it hit me that its been 12 years, so decided to capture a few pictures with the mic which has become a rarity from the last 2 years. Amidst live show, script, special announcements and interviews did steal some moments for the memories and 'gram.

3rd January, 2023, while learning Raag Bhairav, was the first time I was introduced to Pandit Firoz Dastur. In the past two and a half years, I have come to know more about him through his disciples, great musicians of today’s time who were fortunate enough to meet him, their loved ones, and also through the treasure he left behind in his sur and bandish.
Today marks his 106th Birth Anniversary. Even today, all those who crossed paths with him, even briefly, remember him for his kindness and philanthropic nature.
Born into a Parsi family, this great vocalist received his initial training from his father. He received immense encouragement for his art from his family. In one of the singing programs, young Firoz Dastur was spotted and launched by Wadia Movietone. He was barely 15 years old when he sang his first song for the film Laal-E-Yaman in 1933. He was so impressive that, for the same film, he was offered a pivotal role and an additional five songs. His journey as an actor-singer continued for more than a decade. By the end of the 1940s, the star of the formative years of talkie cinema decided to return to where his heart felt at home—Hindustani Classical Music.
His remarkable talent and dedication earned him the opportunity to learn from eminent maestros of the Kirana Gharana—Ustaad Abdul Karim Khan, K.D. Jawkar, Sawai Gandharva, etc. The practice, perseverance, and contribution continued for nearly six decades. This internationally acclaimed singer performed at the biggest festivals across the globe, including the prestigious Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav. Right from its inception in 1952, he performed almost every year as a mark of devotion to his Guru. In 2019, the tradition was upheld when his disciples, Pandit Girish Sanzgiri and Pandit Chandrashekhar Vaze, performed at the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav to commemorate their Guru Pt. Firoz Dastur’s birth centenary.
After his heavenly abode on 9th May 2008, his senior disciple, Pt. Girish Sanzgiri, established the Pandit Firoz Dastur Memorial Foundation in his honor. The Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting the teachings and legacy of his Guru. It actively supports and encourages emerging artists. Pt. Girish Sanzgiri performs almost every year at the Pandit Firoz Dastur Smriti Samaroh, with the same intention – to offer heartfelt tribute to his Guru.
Since the commencement of the Department of Music at Mumbai University in 1969, Pandit Firoz Dastur has been an integral part of it. Through his teachings, he influenced his students, quite a few of whom made a remarkable place for themselves in the field of music.
The foundation of a strong bond between a Guru and his student was laid right from his childhood. He lived in Grant Road, which would get heavily waterlogged during the monsoon season. On one such rainy day, he thought that, given the situation, his Guruji wouldn’t be able to come for that day’s session. But he was delighted to see him arrive despite the challenging circumstances. After a two-hour class, his Guru, Sawai Gandharva, was about to leave and tried to put on his slippers—only to jump in shock, looked at Firozji’s mother, and left with a smile on his face. Later, Firozji learnt that his mother had dried his Guru’s slippers on a hot pan.
Years later, when Pandit Firoz Dastur donned the role of a Guru and performer, the rain God continued to test him—only to be saved time and again, now by his disciples. Call it Karma or Guru-Shishya Parampara.
He continues to live in the hearts of millions he touched through his voice and warm gestures.

June 6th was nothing short of a double celebration for me.
I had the joy of attending .swetta_khajekr06 Dohale Jevan (baby shower) not just as a family member, but with the incredible honor of being entrusted with hosting her special day.

It was the first time I contributed this particular skill within my own family — and while I was beyond excited, it was coupled with nervous energy. But the moment the ceremony began, the warmth, joy, and wholehearted participation from every family member and friend elevated the entire atmosphere beyond anything I could have imagined.

The love and blessings poured in for Shweta and Vishal and for the new life they’re about to welcome. That overwhelming positivity allowed me into making the ceremony even more special.
Also cant forget the kind and appreciative words by one and all. Beyond grateful 🙏💝

As Shweta and Vishal step into this beautiful new chapter of parenthood, the blessings continue to flow — and I feel grateful to have played a small part in such a cherished moment.

Proud! Humbled! and Immensely Grateful!

Today I got an opportunity to interview Journalist, Educator, Social Worker and Director of Women Against Cyber Crime - Vibha Singh on FM Rainbow.

Cyber crime and abuse is a growing concern. Vibha Ma'am through her WACA foundation has helped so many victims of cyber crime. And her guidance to stay safe Online and Offline was extremely valuable.

I have always learned so much from her and she continues to inspire everyone around her.
It was a double dhamaka today, as my guest also happens to be one of my Teachers.

Also, wherever a teacher goes students follow. Surprisingly, a bunch of college students came to Aakashwani Mumbai today for an educational visit.
