The Copyright law is a primary intellectual property rights that encourage the production and protection of an original Literary, Dramatic, Musical, Cinematography, Sound Recording, and Software/Computer Program work. It rewards artistic expression by allowing the author or creator to benefit commercially from their work. In addition to granting economic rights, copyright also bestows “moral” rights, which allow the author or creator to claim authorship and prevent mutilation or deformation of their original work that might harm their reputation. To qualify for a copyright protection, a work has to be an original creation. A copyright is automatically vested in the author or creator once the work is created, however, for a commercial benefit and enforcement of rights, it is necessary to seek a copyright registration.

[…] a significant day in the judicial system of the nation. For the first time since its establishment, the Hon’ble Supreme Court has live streamed the court proceedings, this begins a new era in our judicial system. The right of access to justice is protected by Article 145 (4) of the Constitution, which requires all judgments to be pronounced in open court. Precisely, this means that anyone interested in witnessing the courts in action should have access to the courtrooms. Today, the proceeding of the bench was headed by CJI N. V. Ramana along with CJI-designate Justice U.U. Lalit and Justice Hima Kohli.

On 26th September, 2018, a three – Judge bench comprising of the then Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, Justice A.M. Khanwilkar and Justice D.Y. Chandrachud had permitted live streaming of the Supreme Court proceeding of the national importance as a part of the Right to Access Justice under Article 21 read with 145 (4) of the Constitution.
